It's possible to solo BWL (after the first PITA boss), right? I need Ingots for my Thunderfury and it's way too expensive on the AH.
All of you saying that you soloed MC, AQ, Karazhan, etc. I have a few questions:
Are you level 85? And if so, what is your health / mana pool like?
Do you have questing greens, or are you in full 346?
Were you frost when you soloed the content? Fire? Arcane? Different specs for different encounters? A PvP spec?
A few more details other than "I killed the following bosses", would be really helpful. I saw youtube videos at level 80 of mages soloing Bloodlord and Anzu, and just couldn't do it myself, no matter what spec I tried, or what skills I employed. I guess any content soloing is going to take practise, but quite often people just make things like that look easier than they really are for the common player.
For the Alliance!
Like I wrote before, I manage karazhan as PVE fire (in pretty much BiS gear) as level 80, AQ20 ZG and Anzu as well.
Below, done as level 85 with ~360iLVL
MC:
Lucifron - Fire
Magmadar - Fire
Gehennas - Fire
Garr - Fire
Baron Geddon - Frost
Shazzrah - Frost
Golemagg - Frost
Sulfuron Harbinger - Fire
Majordomo Executus - Fire
Ragnaros - Frost
BWL:
Vaelastrasz the Corrupt - Frost (gearcheck)
Broodlord Lashlayer - Frost
Firemaw - Frost
Ebonroc - Frost
Flamegor - Frost
Chromaggus - Frost/Fire (depending on the weakness he starts with)
Nefarian - Frost
AQ40:
The Prophet Skeram - Frost (remember to dismiss the elemental)
Bug Trio - Frost
Battleguard Sartura - Fire/Frost
Fankriss the Unyielding - Frost
Princess Huhuran - Frost
Also, tip of the year: MI -> invis -> let your pet tank, and most bosses should be dead before you regain aggro!

how have you done the chess event?
Several times, ain't really that hard actually.
Rock with the queen and be prepared to move the king as soon as Medivh cheats

You can pull Netherspite out of the room to completely avoid the beam-mechanic. But he gets an +200% damage buff, idk if a clothwearer can handle this.
tryed this today (but im a paladin^^), pretty much 40g per boss + dropps. Chess took mir 3 trys until i figured out how to do it (move your king out of the fire xD). Tactic with all 3 beams on you to kill nethergroll worked fine for me
karazhan is soloable since lvl 80
some videos of me (not all bosses though, but i soloed up to netherspite, couldn't manage to down malchenazar at 80)

zul'aman at 85 (first two bosses without the trash buff, but probably janalai is soloable without the buff too)

Kind of pointless but fire mages are great for soloing the Whale Shark and the rare spawn whale shark in Vash'ir.
This is probably going to sound like a really stupid question but, how do you get into instances to solo them without a raid group? I'm always met with "You need to be in a raid group to enter" so I just give up. If I could figure that out, I might actually resubscribe to play around again.
Borrow somebodies alt for two seconds. Just hop in a raid group with them and then have them disconnect (i.e. turn off the internet connection or something similar). Presto, you're all alone in a raid instance.
EDIT: Obviously, unless someone is willing to waste their time in your raid.
Also, once you have a raid group setup and you are inside the zone, if you are the leader you can right-click the other persons portrait and remove (or uninvite) them and then they are out of your group and you stay in the raid zone. Becomes a PITA if you die - if you dont.. you're golden.
