The end of world pvp as we know it?

I always loved the fact that I would log-in and horde would be attacking sw or be outside gs always causing trouble because it was always fun. Now there are flying mounts so it just makes it less fun because all people do now is fly away and fly around towns. I made a rogue and was so excited to go into org and cause problems for people and now 1 of 3 guards has stealth detection and around 316k hp and the amount of guards is increased and it generally makes it stupid to even try.. sorry for the rant but anyone have any thoughts?

    simple solution-

    Tol barad Peninsula

    problem solved, enjoy yourself =)

Yeah I totally agree. Lower the amount of guards, lower their health and dmg so we can still be able to mess around in the other faction's towns.

heh.. that's great and all but it's more fun doing it in a non pvp zone

why, so you can gank people afk on their mounts outside a AH?

no thank you, i prefer the challenge of someone in pvp gear =)

no no no your missing my point. on pvp servers the whole fun of it is to be able to go and disrupt other faction or get a group of friends and get battles going outside of their towns or in their towns.. and in TB I see plenty of ppl in pve gear

if you get a large enough group you can quite easily go screw with a whole city, or if you can't get many people- just farm them where they duel :>

I laughed at the title because basicly world pvp as a whole has been dead since the release of battlegrounds (Sorry to say so, but yeah). The so called "Raids on SW" in wotlk was just storm in to the king and nerd rage all over him untill he's dead. And then the mage would make a portal to dalaran and they would all be gone. Not much PvP involved imo.
Not every n00b is a bad player, but every bad player is a n00b.

I beg to differ. I use to see horde outside at least gs for hours at a time daily or attacking some odd town and they would attack sw to kill alliance players and weren't very interested in zerging the king

Where have you been? World PvP has been dead since Vanilla (AKA: Tarren Mill, Southshore).
    Signatures are overrated.

one of those would be me

in WoTLK me and my BG group would just HK farm outside stormwind AH while waiting for queues to pop

Who cares? I'd rather have my auctioneers available than the random idiots that try to survive in the middle of sw for no reason. What is fun for you is not fun for the other side that suffers the consequences.

Making city guards = insta death was a great move. PvP elsewhere.

that ruins the fun of everyone, PVP on a PVP server was meant to be done in cities or low lvl zones. It's fun for both sides, for attack at first when it's ganking, then for the defenders when it turns into a man hunt.

Killing city NPCs is not world PvP. 99% of players in a city aren't flagged for PvP anyway.

Also, in actuality you're completely wrong. If blizzard intended PvP to be done in low level zones and in cities, they wouldn't remove your PvP flag upon entering said zones or cities.

You'll just need to get over the fact that you can no longer grief other players.

Then get thee to a nunnery. Errrr... I meant to say PVE server.

If you don't like random pvp happening anywhere as long as it's within the rules of the game, then you don't belong on a pvp server.

RIP world pvp with the advent of cross-server everything, queue-from-anywhere, flying mounts and all that crap.

I play strictly on pvp servers. I consent to anyone trying to pvp with me at any time and for any purpose. Feel free to try to inconvenience me. If it's too much I'll just log an alt or escape to a city and un-flag.

I sincerely hope all the PVE-focused people enjoy themselves playing this game. I sincerely hope they don't make the mistake of rolling on a PVP server and wish them the best of luck in their fun endeavours.

If you think I'm trolling - I'm not. I want everyone to have fun, but I also don't think you will have very much fun with me around on a pvp server if you don't like pvp at any time at any place.

    ^ This.

World PvP was already in a bad place after vanilla (though I do miss the crazy Halaa battles in TBC). Now it's all preordained fighting and there's no more excitement or rush involved. I get some wpvp in Tol Barad but eh. I know I'm gonna find wpvp there.

Did a massive 160 or so player raid on Orgrimmar a couple of weeks ago. Might have been fun if not for the fact that wow servers are so useless that they can't handle such things. It took us something like 40 mins to kill Garrosh simply because it took over 45 seconds to get an instant ability off. I couldn't even keep serpent sting up on the boss because by the time I managed to cast a cobra shot the full duration of serpent sting had timed out about 3 times over.

I miss leveling with people wanting to kill you. Sure tol barad is considered world pvp but I miss the suprise of who is going to attack you and how they are going to be geared. In my opinion it was much more fun than arena and bg's.
