"my realm only" option for LFG is sorely needed

go spam trade with it then, the option is there, dont need such a nobrainer tool for it. and plus, people have to trust each other, and it would look like a threat, like "we on same server, so be nice or i gonna spam trade with that you were bad!". i dont see the LFG tool bad, its awesome, the only bad thing is the players abusing it. i found alot of things people complain about is the fault of a player, a part of the players, or the players themselves, and blame Blizzard for that people in their game aint nice.

People who recommended spaming LFG in trade obviously don't realize, that with the dungeon finder, people are sitting in cities much less now while queuing for an instance and even IF they are, paying much less attention to trade, since it got a lot less relevant now.

So spamming trade for forming a group is not a valid tactic anymore. The OP considered that in his post anyway.

It's archaic to want to go back to the old methods now when you can get dungeons effortlessly nowadays, just because you might meet 1 or 2 problem players.

Back before lfd, reputation mattered on a server.

It's more like, back before servers had the amount of players they have now, reputation mattered.

I can honestly say that I cannot name a single person worth mentioning on my server, and I've been on it for well over 3 years now. Sure, there's some cool people I know, but I wouldn't say that any of them qualify for any sort of realm celebrity status.

Besides, as socialist as it sounds, the individual has really disappeared from this game. And who's surprised, really? There's millions of players in this game.

Nowadays, when you mention these kinds of realm celebrities, you're bringing up old Rank 14's (that no one outside that server knows or cares about) and people who have done something extraordinary, be it good, bad or otherwise (Leeroy Jenkins and the funeral crashing guild Serenity Now comes to mind).

i want the effortlessness of LFG without the cross realm douchebaggery and it's not about just avoiding the douches, it's about community, making friends, making guilds and making server reputation mean something again

You CAN get a group on trade still however, it has evolved into:
LF Dps + Tank random heroic ILVL 350+

Before LFD and GS/iLvl there was none of this it was simply:
LF Dps + Tank *insert heroic name here*

While I approve of the random heroic, I preferred the daily heroic quest itself.


TL;DR There is Trade Heroic groups however Gearscore has given everybody with lucky drops an elitist attitude about them.

realm only lfd seems kind of stupid, if you want to run with realm only players simply form a group compiled of players from your realm searching in trade chat and what not.

"Server only" option = even longer queue time since it has to find the people in one place instead of say 5 places (or however many is in a battlegroup) = more qq over the silly things.

Would go over like a bag of bricks. Either be server only across the board or not. Mix and matching would mean even more complaining over wait times.

LFD messed the game up big time indeed, no reputation, no nice people... butalthough the social aspect of the game's gotten quite disgusting, a friend and I sorted that one out!

We made our own raiding guild! <NO PPL CLUB> just the two of us, as ppl are nasty, unlike people, and we already have Kara, ZA, Gruul, first 3 bosses in TK, and Rage Winterchill, on farm, as well as Warlord... I forgot his name... and Supremus in Black Temple, but this week we will do progression runs in SSC and Obsidian Sanctum.

We actually considered getting a lvl 70 nice geared tank in our ranks, or a healer, and we might actually go for some end bosses. By no means we'll 25-man them, no, we dislike crowds and like to keep the raid interesting. Don't be overconfident, we got progression bosses that wipe us, but we might be able to do them in the next tier.

We use skype and we tell fun stories about the 25-man guild we used to be in and how annoying ppl sounded on vent.

Matter of fact, if you got a 70 alt on Al'Akir-EU, and are not a ppl, you should contact Xeras or Diezel. Xeras and I do 2vs2 guild arena, and we got alts which gets us some XP, we might get some perks, but we don't care too much about perks, we got Crusader Aura. If there'l be 4 of us, we could try do some guild achievements/heroic runs.

PS. We actually got two raid groups for Kara. I mean we both solo it, and can down Chess event on our own. The game might've gotten trolly but thank goodness there's all this single-player content now, and INSTANCED, it means no ppl interfere.

And God it's so much fun, and I believe its a good alternative to the 85 endgame.

Like it or not WoW is not like an MMO of the past. The reason for its popularity its its friendliness to solo play. The LFD system plays that exact role. It won't be changed. Remember the days in BC. A huge majority had difficulties finding groups, nvm 45min wait queues.

Not that it will help them in LFGs, mind you.
Sure, it probably is cool, but it's not gonna help much when reality sets in and the so-called bad-asses get kicked simply because the group doesn't want to take any chances.

That being said, having a karma system could work, despite the potentional for said system to be misused.

A server only-option would be an easier and less exploitable choice, though.

Stating the obvious:

Before we had the LFD-system , we all wanted a LFD-system.
Now that we have it, we suddenly dont want the LFD-system?
Saying that "all was better before" , well go back to the times before x-realm and before any LFG-system, you had to spam trade and form your own group, which is what you still are able to, you're just too lazy and want some sort of "no douche-LFD". Then you can also suggest making an LFD-tool who makes you hook up only with players who never get kicked f.ex?

I don't mind the LFD how it is now, I actually like the anonymity of it sometimes, but I do think you have a valid point right there and it isn't filled with just QQ about LFD this time. As long as it is an OPTION, and not how the LFD works then I would approve of this.
