Help with gear decision

I just have a quick question in regards towards my locks gearing. I was wondering if I should buy Breeches of Mended Nightmares (crafted pants) or should I wait till i get better legs through vp or from raids. Currently on my server the legs are going for 5k and thought it seemed like a good price for such an upgrade considering im wearing the legs that you get through jp. I haven't started raiding yet and was was hoping for some help to what legs I should be getting.
