why do people always write the worst sentence possible when quoting someone they disagree with? no one has wrote anything even close to that sentence in this thread.

I don't personally have a problem with rift putting "We're not in Azeroth anymore" in their ad, I just feel Rift should succeed or fail based on gameplay alone.

same way with those mac vs. PC ad's

I usually play with only 1 addon when I'm not raiding and it still takes a hell of a lot longer then rift =P

A marketing campaign for an MMO targeting the most successful one ever makes sense. That kinda thing is nothing new. Coke and Pepsi go after each other all the time. I intend to try Rift's beta, and you can bet Blizzard is keeping a watch on it also. And I bet they buy subscriptions to play it.

It's going to be interesting to watch what happens to subscriptions. I think a lot of MMO players aren't going to fork over the ca$h for subscriptions to different games, particularly with the world's economy in such shambles. I hope Rift is successful. Competing for that niche market can only make games better. I'm not particularly concerned about the level of graphics, but if there's a good bit more customization, it's entirely possible I'll be switching subscriptions.

dude you only got to 23 and let me tell you that i did all the quests ALL OF THEM (they had disabled the link after you done the last quest they wanted tested) and i ended at lvl 27(30 was max) so you will need to grind a bit to fill the gap or they need to improve the amount of exp you get, i did report the issue i hope they fixed it next beta phse tomorrow

I love those mac vs. PC ad's haha. The Rift add saying "We're not in Azeroth anymore" felt like one of those ad's, made me lol. And people always do that to make the other people they are arguing with look stupid so their point looks more intelligent. It works because some people do post like that. Also sometimes when I see people posting like "I think rift is stupid because the game looks like a wow-clone, enuf said." in my mind I'm actually seeing "I TINK RIFT ARE STOOPID CAUSE GAME LOOK LIKE ER WOW-CLONE, NUF SAID." so maybe that's whats happening for other people too =)

Seeing as how no one else had this problem, and I have the same problem as the last guy having waaaayyyy to many quests, you might have skipped a whole zone? ._. Were you doing rift quests/crafting quests/dungeon quests/pvp quests as well?

Now can we please get over the whole "we're not in Azeroth anymore"

  10. #50
At level 23 I had tons of quests left to do. I don't see why there has to be enough quests for you to only do anything if a quest tells you to. Ignoring dungeons and rifts seems like shooting yourself in the foot if you're trying to be optimal about gear/exp. That and rifts have a tendency of popping up where on top of quest objectives or hubs so engaging them is a little bit more than encouraged. If you simply only enjoy a completely quest based experience, I can't comment as I can't relate.

I've tried it with and without. You should also consider that the loader for Rift is also loading the debugger with it since it was the beta version. Believe me, the difference is HUGE.

I hope this game will threaten WoW, then Blizzard will have to step their game up.

Though it sounds like every over hyped mmo before it

Crikey, when was the last time you leveled a toon in WoW? I skipped MASSES of quests getting my Hunter to 60 in cata, just doing the one daily heroic. Just over 35 hours played to get to level 60.

Um what beta 4. Got to 27(cap) with only going about halfway through stonefield. Beta 5 got to 30 also going about halfway in scarlet gorge.

Here I was expecting a wow bashing from someone who loves rift, but you pretty much nailed the facts down. If I had the time to construct this, and the patience to read all of these rift threads, I may have came up with something similar. I may try this game, but I am not expecting anything, just gotta try it and find out what is in there.

Also... /signed and pray for no lock

The reason 1-60 is so fast is because you also have 3 expansion packs to go through too. Blizz is at least trying to keep the time needed to hit max level fairly equal from expansion to expansion.

My opinion about Rift. I enjoyed playing my character to level 12 and im wondering what it will have in store for me on retail. Bought the pre-order collectors edition, and thing i will have a blast playing it. Once it gets boring i'll go back to WoW

Because people are playing WoW for 6 years it doesn't mean a new game is a bad game. Its the same thing about playing Risk and you say NO I DONT WANT TO PLAY MONOPOLY because its new and im afraid its awesome and i wont play Risk neveragain.

i did all the PvP/solo and rift quests i got and rift events. i didn't do any dungons but you should not need to do dungons while lvling sens after the first wave of ppl it can be hard to get a group for it for the 5 mans. i also only did the dailiy quests once sens by the point i cloud do them once more it was to low

i did not skip a zone i went where the quest line told me to go and every bread crumbs told me to go so i didn't skip any quests and it just stoped where they broke the quest line sens you where inteded to be lvl 30 there

The time is an irrelevancy, the fact was I had tons of quests left over in every zone (bar the start area) just from playing one dungeon per 10 levels on average.
