    [TV] Yu-gi-oh and Pokemon

I think everyone remembers those two major shows that we all used to watch 6-7 years ago in my golden years of TV (Insert comment on FOX)...
    Yu-gi-oh and Pokemon.

I'm just making this thread to talk about which you thought was better, what you thought was best, why you think the new episodes are awful, etc.
Just keep it cool, and yes, the card games can be discussed too

PS: Yes, there is another thread up, it was a random accidental post that happened when i hit enter..

wow you are young, to me the golden age of TV was when color was an option, and Cable was not yet invented.

For me the "after School" I remember most, was "Battle of the Planets" and I was also very much into "Kiss" back then.

indeed, but that would seem like a big step up from B&W to color

yeah.... definately THIS.... not the pokemon and yu gi oh crap. I would add thunder cats, Tailspin, Darkwing Duck and a few other similar EARLY 90s late 80s in there. (I think thunder cats was 86ish)

Indeed. I have to add MacGyver, Knight Rider (ok that's not that good anymore when you think about it but it was when it came out). And if we're talking about cartoons then even classic Disney series about Donald, Scrooge etc. beat any cartoon today. Today everything is almost politically correct to the absurd and making the best effort possible to try to make kids dumb. There's no way a thing like the Teletubbies would've catch on in the 80's.

Haha no idea what saber rider is but it seemed a bit voltron-esk with the suits and what not. While I admit I have seen yu-gi-oh and pokemon they just do not instill the awe and entertainment value instilled into during the early days of Toonami watching the end of Thundercats, Voltron, Beast Wars, Astro Boy, and many more shows where the shows weren't tryin to send off anti drug messages or don't have sex, but if the bad guys are actin up you need to kick their a**.
