It's a shame. Most of the bands being listed in this thread have become so generic I would hardly consider them metal anymore.

As long as the band is thrash, you cannot go wrong, but I also have to throw a shout-out to heavy metal and speed metal; but I can also agree with some industrial, alternative, groove, shock rock, rap, progressive and grunge.

That's just a quick list from the top of my head, the last 3 changes from what mood I'm in but Slipknot and Marilyn Manson will most likely be my favorite metal bands forevah! ^^ (Not sure if Manson is really metal, but it's close enough. Same goes for Adept, since they're more screamo/post hardcore)

@Badpaladin: I love metalcore, and metalcore IS real metal. F*ck anyone who tells you otherwise!
