    Hardware Basics

    Hey,

Been starting to love computers lately (software wise) but I am looking for the basics of hardware to be explained to me and what makes one graphics card is better and stuff like that.

Sorry for a brief and vast question.
    Hey everyone

Well it depends on what you're looking at and what you define as "better"
    CPU - i7-950 @ 4.1ghz
    GPU - GTX 470 @ 880/1760/2100
    Storage - 2x Crucial C300 64GB SSD Raid 0 / 1x WD CB 1TB / 2x WD CB 640GB
    Memory - 6GB Corsair Dominator 1600
PSU - 1000W Coolermaster Silent Pro
    Case - Coolermaster HAF X
CPU Water Block - EK Supreme Nickel/Plexi CPU Water Block
GPU Water Block - EK GTX 470 Nickel/Plexi GPU Water Block

You will want to look at the following

1: Will my power supply support a new card. Some new cards use in excess of 400 watts alone
2: Check the speed of the GPU ( Graphics Processing Unit )
3: Does it have multiple processors or multiple cores?
4: Check the number of pixle pipelines more the better
5: Ram speed. DDR3 is obiously faster then DDR2
6: Check the memory speed. 1200MHZ is faster than 850MHZ
