Got blue screen, my PC is destroyed HELP!!

I was just playing wow, i was in orgrimmar just looking at a tauren face for some reason and suddenly i got blue screen. I restarted the PC but it wouldn't start up, the screen was just black and nothing happened. Then i turned off the PC and then turned it on again and still nothing happens. I tried to spam F8 to get up the safe mode and stuff but even that doesnt work... just nothing happens not even a single pixel shows up on the screen!!!

Everything was 100% normal and then it just happened all of a sudden and now i have lost everything... i doubt i can even reinstall windows. Anyone got any idea what to do?

An error code would be nice, did you write anything down when the BSoD showed up? There are a million different things it could be based on your description. It could be a cooling problem, a motherboard problem, a memory issue, a fried video card, a bad PSU, etc...

Since it isn't booting at all, it is probably a power supply or cooling issue.

take the computer to the window open it and then threaten with a nasty fall

on a serious note mine was doing that a fair bit and found it was the graphics card, blizz decided to change the water features and such(not sure why tbh) and my card couldnt handle it,but without an error report mate it really could be any number of reasons.

this probably wont help but my old PC sometimes just shut off, we figured the pc were getting too hot, did some google-ing and it said that the pc would shut down to protect the hardware when it was getting too hot. We opened the Pc up and cleaned it. it was full of dust and shit so the fans couldnt work correctly or something,

unplug it completely from electricity for 1 min, then plug it back in and try again.

if that doesnt work then bring it to a workshop and have it looked at.

since you have no experiance with this then noone is doing you a favor throwing out random things that could be wrong with it.

Since you asking here, you obviously won't be able to do any diagnostic on your own. It's ok, not evryone is born a MacGyver.

Just take it to some service place and have checked out.

Issues with power supply and graphics card are most common if PC refuses to start.
In case of power supply it will cheaper and more time efficient just have checked out by someone who has equipment to do so.

    Nope nothing special

Every time i start the pc the fan goes faster until the PC has started up and the fan never slows down now since it doesnt start up so it always makes high noise

ps. usually it makes some beep noises when it starts up but now it doesnt...

Definitely sounds like a hardware issue and you don't sound like the type of person who can fix that yourself. Do like everyone here has recommended and take it to a service place and have them look at it.

Can you even boot to the BIOS screen or are you just getting a blank screen when you press the power button? If you can get to the BIOS (holding DEL key on power up) check to see if your hard drives are being recognized, there might also be a tab for viewing CPU and mainboard temperature as well as voltage. Don't change any settings if you aren't sure what they do.

Blue screens can be cause by any number of things, back when I used Windows 95 BSODs were almost a daily occurrence due to graphics drivers. It is possible you have a failing device somewhere in the computer. If you don't know anyone who can physically diagnose your machine, you might seek a repair shop.

Are you still under warranty? Getting your computer serviced will be painful.

I'd guess it's your video card, if your computer turns on and you can hear things running but the screen is black, and since it shut down during WoW. Your fan might have started failing, so that your video card could have been getting too hot. If you have a laptop a video card can be painful to replace, but if you are new to computers anything is painful.

Try a different monitor, see if you can get anything at all on your screen. That's the only user-friendly thing I can think of for you to try.

That seems like rather common behavior caused by a graphics card that has completely malfunctioned.

A good basic test is to remove the graphics card and see how the computers behavior changes. You'll need to go by audio ques, so note down things like:
    Fan behaviour.
Any post beeps. (Is it the normal one, or are there other repeated beeps?)

How do you know it isn't over heating? You don't seem to be particularly knowledgeable when it comes to PCs (no offense), and since you can't start the computer I doubt you've ran any diagnostic tests (e.g. CPU temp tests). If you're going by touch, it could be overheating and you may not even be aware of it because you're not touching the right parts (e.g. The CPU directly, the GPU, etc). And even if you're touching the correct parts, they're often very hot either way, you may not be aware of how hot is too hot.

Like others have said, since you're not a PC expert, your only option is to take it to where you bought it or to a computer repair place and get it checked out.

There is no way for it to overheat fast enough to not POST for at least a few seconds. Even with no heatsinks.

Overheating? No. OverheatED, maybe, because it's obviously a hardware failure.

    Take it to a shop.

So is it a hardware issue or the graphic card? ...thats kida the 2 things you guys mentioned the most...

  18. #18
Fried graphic card counts as hardware issue too. It's definitely not software problem anyway. It could be damaged motherboard too, I think when pc can't locate graphic card, it makes certain error sounds.

Ok if the graphic card or motherboard is broken, i have to buy a new and replace it?
