Yawning quits & Blizzard forums bans him

Yawning the creator of Mew (feral dps simulator), long-time forum poster, guide writer, sticky maintainer quit today. In response Blizzard banned him from the forums, removed his stickies, deleted his guides - and his doing the same for anyone who posts his name. What is it that precipitates this digital massacre?

I'm sad to see him go - but I'm *EXCEPTIONALLY* disappointed in blizzards response.

You're in my forums now, so a few things. Direct insults don't fly here. So, if you direct insult someone even if they did it 1st, you're auto infracted. And, every time after you're auto infracted. These add up quickly. I'm putting this in the 1st post so if you get banned, you had no excuse. Talk nicely and leave direct insults out or don't post. Thank you =]

Pretty sure we're just hearing one side of the story regarding Blizzard's actions on the forums to Yawning.

Tis a sad day for kitties everywhere, but I do somewhat doubt that its purely the mentioned 'quality of life issues' that led to this.

What Blizz did is implement drastic changes to a game and player base with the presumption that they would get a lot of criticism for it. Their initial solution was (and still is) an iron hammer to any criticism that they deem too loud or "colorful." In this case, the gamer is loud in the sense that he has a big following, so Blizz chose the iron hammer, which was not a good idea. What's probably happening now is EA is looking at the subscription numbers and talking to Blizz about what the deal is with the decline in subs. We've seen some backpedal with this whole "nerf" and "challenge" they've thrown at us, and I think we'll see more. Money talks.

He didn't say he supports it, merely voicing what is a reasonable explanation as to why his stuff got deleted.

However, I didn't see anywhere in this post where he mentions he knows better than Blizzard etc, so I'm not sure where you got that from unholy.
