MMO is not World of Warcraft.

But World of Warcraft is an MMO game.

I am not too sure that entirely correct. I believe that if they were "banned" that it would have something to do with their forum conduct or posting a thread about RIFT in a thread other than "Off-Topic >> Video Games." I am not a moderator, but I would have to believe this is the case. It's not like this site is owned by Blizzard nor do they receive a lot of ad revenue from them. Most of the ads that I see on this site are for things other than Blizzard products.

Look at all the threads in the offtopic/videogames that were locked with a message like "there's already a thread about rift here, go there".

I have, and I had one of those threads that were locked, yet I am not banned. I am just suggesting that your theory may be incorrect.

It's MMO-Champion, not WoW-Champion... WoW is nearly dead, Curse will make MMO-Champ a big SC2/TOR Community or smth like that.

The people posting about Rift who were banned also coincide with those posting against Rift who were banned. We don't care what video games you post about (and we won't ban you for starting a new thread, we'll just lock it and redirect. Unless you are spamming new threads, then we might), as long as it's done in a civil manner. Most of the bans come from attacking the other side, calling them fanbois, purposefully starting flame-wars, etc., etc.

Like when Apple said they'd prefer cannibalize sales of their beloved ipod with their own products than let their competitors do so… just before releasing the iPhone, I am pretty sure Blizzard wants WoW to be surpassed only by their next MMO… That is… until they release WoW II in 5 to 10 years.

And Blizzard has big advantages : a touroughly tested business model, servers able to scale well thanks to years of fieldtesting (cough), lots of cash, top notch game brands and 10 millions subscribers. Competitors are fighting an uphill battle, feeding from WoW old age until Blizz' new MMO strikes the market…

So, I guess MMO can stay with Blizzard MMOs for many years to come…

    But... please?

On topic: I've always imagined that Boub would unleash his true powers and take over the world, forcing people to play wow 24/7. That, or it will focus on Hello Kitty Online. (Please?)

It won't die, it'll be the king of MMO's for years and years then we'll all migrate to Titan and this wil become a Titan fansite (if Titan doesn't fail horrendously*.

Well the name is MMO-champion but it will be interesting to see what it becomes once WoW is gone. To those who believe that WoW will remain forever you are delusional. This game as with many other things has an expiry date and either Blizzard will release something new to drag all the lost and hopeless souls back to them or another thing will come out that people will go to.

Seeing as this as MMO-champion currently focuses on WoW which is currently the biggest game I would assume that once WoW is done if this site is still going (Almost guaranteed) that it will just start to cover the next biggest website.

    EDIT

Also because I know people read things and then add their own twist I am not talking about Rift or anything current replacing WoW, something far down the line (years away).

WoW is no where close to dead... It has the most subscribers of any MMO in history, and is only gaining more and more. It's still growing.

The bold statement is the only correct thing about this post. The other items you are stating are impossible to know unless you are a Blizzard employee, and even then you would have to be a Vice President or higher to have access. So please, just try and stick to the facts.

we will get a new IP adress in IPv4 Range...hell yeah

no seriously....I have no clue, dont see wow dying in any way...new kids grow and start playing and the older ones will make the seats free for their childs, grandchilds, grandgrandchilds -->50mio subscribers inc :O

There are millions of players playing that don't even know about the existence of forums such as mmo champion.

    WoW will not die.

Or you could look at their reports. You know, the ones they are forced by law to provide to stockholders.

So please, just try to stick to common sense.

OT: MMO-champion is like world champion title, which ever is more popular(better) takes the reins.
