If you can get some to spawn before black phase, that is optimal. Then you go 3+vile swills (which all get AE'd down anyway), then 6. He doesn't always cast release aberrations before he goes into black phase though, so if you have to go 9/9, just make sure you have something like ring of frost to help the tank with all 9 up.
