His US prices aren't even that good honestly... Nearly all of those pieces of hardware can be found for cheaper by looking around more carefully and finding sales. You should probably try looking outside of Amazon for better prices. I'm sure there are places in the UK that would be better, although I don't know any... being from across the pond.
Amazon's not that great, and amazon outside of the USA is even worse... the Canadian Amazon doesn't have very good prices on anything usually, despite the Canadian dollar being approximately at par with USD for the past few years, and currently exceeding it.

The only reason Amazon is used is because their inventory is available globally, of which Newegg's, TigerDirect's, etc.'s is not

Prices here in Finland are following this 'formula' pretty accurately: newegg USD * 1.1 = local Euro, so $100 item is around 110€ (~$150)

Thanks to import taxes, higher VAT and crazy volumes Newegg is buying.

    Uk parts you have.

    Ebuyer
    Overclockers
    Scan
    Aria
    Novatech

Generally use overclockers for parts. As of there quick delivery and excellent forums.

But like some one said. Shop around for deals. Each e tailer has different offers each week.

Whilst I use Overclockers generally, I prefer to try my local "PC shop" - a tiny little 2 man, rent-a-space type business. If they can source a product for a fair price, they will, they're on my doorstep so to speak for any kind of RMA and I can con coffee out of them.

Local stores might be slower, smaller and potentially smell a little musty, but I really wouldn't want to lose access to mine.

    Re. the OP

UK tax prices just went up remember, I have -no- idea what US tax prices are doing.. or even if they are a national value or state controlled. Clueless Brit and all that.
Still, historically it has been "cheaper" to shop in the US if you are a Brit, at least for things like clothes, property, food etc.

Doesn't make it any less painful when I looked at how much I -could- have bought my new system for if I was born across the pond though!

As already mentioned, amazon.com doesn't always have the best prices. It was only used for rough estimate purposes. For example, you can easily get a 5770 for $100 after MIR in the US, if you're going to pay $130+ for a 5770 you're insane because you can get a GTX 460 768mb version for only $20-30 more.
