Me and two friends of mine are going to the USA in about a month, in what we think will be the trip of our lives.
We got most of the trip figured out, but we'll do some stuff on a whim. I've been in the US before, in 2000 when I was like 12 years. Without a shadow of doubt, the best country in the world, unless you're poor... Visited New Jersey, New York and several places and cities in California, had a great time.
Anyhow, on our travelling route we'll try to cover and visit as much as we can. We start off in Seattle, then probably fly to San Fran and travel down the coast to either LA or San Diego. Obviously we're stopping in Las Vegas, one of my friends really like playing poker and has saved up about 3k US dollars to "waste" on gambling. From there on and out we'll rent a car and drive towards the east coast.
I'd really like to see much of the southern states, because they aren't really the first place tourists go to when travelling to the states. It'll be interesting to go there I think, I don't know that much about how it really is there, although I'm more knowledgeable about America then the average norwegian.
Our final destination will be New York. (Greatest city in the world?)
We'll be staying mostly with relatives or folks that know our families somehow, which is great, and renting a car, food and other necessities are so cheap over there compared to Norway. (we have high salaries but 35-45% tax is normal, and cost of food etc is high)
I've got 2 definite goals for the trip: 1) Eat fresh Dunkin Donuts as often as possible (they are divine, dreamt of them for 11 years, and no I'm not fat)
2) Have sex with an african-american girl, which I imagine in my head will be super hot
So, since most readers here are American, I wondered if you got any tips? What to see, what to do (what to avoid/watch out for). Happenings, festivals or such for example.
And hey, if anyone wants a visit from 3 good looking norwegian fellas, I'm sure we'll take you up on it. You are all harmless, right?
TL;DR America, 3 months, what do.
