im terrible with computers, but ive picked up that DX11 can be extremely buggy, and that using DX9 might solve your problems til they can get around to fixing it

From my understanding WoW was designed for no more than 2 cores... I suggest bypassing two cores (it somewhere in the BIOS Setup)

Using 3or more cores should slow the system down sometimes it is noticeable sometimes it not. Not sure why... but there was a blue post about it during the BC beta.

Also as Said already DX11 is buggy right now still its not in full release still in beta... even the "release" download has teh word beta in it...

The operative word there being the "BC Beta"
Wow is now designed to take advantage of hyperthreaded cores.

Additionally, DX11 to my knowledge, puts more strain on your GPU than your CPU.
Are you experiencing any lag during these maxing-outs, or heat spikes? If not, then you may be experiencing a bug in the software you're using.

I was wanting to know what you are doing ingame when the CPU usage spike occurs

Also provide an addon list if you can

Also go into task manager and make sure no processors are using absurd amounts of memory during these periods.

I want you to enable CPU profiling, do the UI reload as neccesary.

Then enter duration 15 minutes in seconds and just play wow normally, then sort by CPU and CPU/Sec and post screenies here.
CPU usage is sometimes due to unruly addons, I once had an addon update of inline Auras misbehave and cause CPU usage spikes.

For clarification, processes are the software tasks that are running, the processor is your physical CPU.

For clarification, a few programs using a shit-load of memory are prone to also taking up a lot of CPU.

Um... no. Fail. WoW will now work with as many cores as you have. OP, roll back to DX9 as DX11 is still buggy.

For clarification he was clarifing that (as you said in this quote) you ment to check that processes (programs) were not using large amounts of memory, not "processors" (cpu) as you said the first time.

You have to enable CPU profiling, do a /console reloadui

Then start it. You ran it without CPU profiling on.

Its probably another program misbehaving. Do you notice WoW.exe usage going up, or just generic processor/core usage going up? Try disabling Kaspersky
