Our guild is a semi-casual 10M guild with 2 raid nights per week, and we started raiding like 2 months late so we are still 9/12 normal mode before last week. So last week, we decided to try Al'Akir instead of Chogall because ToFW looks much prettier (as the ladies in the raid said).
It turned out to be much easier than we thought. Of cause we wiped for a few hours before we down him, but every few tries we knew we are closer.
Then it comes to the last pull, and we got into P2, and we did really bad in stacking the debuff such that it never reached 3... When we start to get ready for another wipe, we are thrown up into the sky and P3 starts! And half of the raid died. The remaining 5 was 2 DPS, 1 tank (which is only 0.5 DPS in P3) and 2 healers. So we use the Head -> Chest -> Bottom -> Waist -> Head strat and 5 maned P3 with almost no stress and 2mins left in the enrage timer.
With these being said, I think we did a really bad job in this boss fight, no feedback stacking in P2, and only half raid in P3, but we were still able to kill this one... Does this mean we basically out-geared this guy? Most ppl in our raid are like only 75% 359 now, so it just hard to believe that a final boss in a raid can be out-geared so easily.
MOD EDIT: Do not turn this into a 10s vs 25s. This is not what the topic is about.
