    PC Art Program

Sorry if this is in wrong section..

I am looking for a program that would trace the lines of some art so I can easily color it.. I looked all over that I can think of and can't find anything. Anyone know of a program like this?

I've been using Photoshop CS4 along with a wacom Tablet.

the tablet takes some time to get use to and some good ones can go for quite a bit of money but in the end make it pretty easy to draw on the computer in general. i actually just finished tracing a sketch a friend of mine just did using this route. Is it the Best route? that idk.
    O.o

    Ahh.

I don't have the money for Photoshop or a Tablet. =/ Was looking for a program that might do it for you.

Gimp is a freeware photoshop type program, you could try it.

Paint.NET and Google's Picasa are the usual choices of free paint programs for Windows. GIMP has so seriously gimped UI that unless you're already familiar with linux peculiarities or you really really need some special features it has, I'd advice staying as far from it as possible.

I think he means automated lineart tracing?

If so, Corel Draw is the most reliable for the lowest price.

Might want to look into Inkscape if you are looking for something free, although I am not sure it has a trace function, and it only works in SVG format.

If you want the top of the line, go for Photoshop CS5, if you can afford it or find it...

Otherwise GIMP is a good alternative. http://www.gimp.org/

    Yes.

A program that will trace my sketch and turn it into line art so I can color it easily.

Yeah, I use Corel for that.

Helps to have a good scanner too, and a steady hand when inking.
