Why Can't JC use Chaos Orbs?

Hello there. I was just wondering why JC can't use Chaos orbs. Blizz said that only Production profs will be able to roll on them, but JC can't? I know we have nothing to use them for, but for later can we get items that will use them. I was just saying this because JC adds tons to the wow economy yet were feeling left out. I was just saying this because I've been wondering about it.

You just don't need them. Be happy that you don't have to farm HC's for them

If they add JC designs that require Chaos Orbs then they will make it so that we can get them. Until then, they could be sitting for a very long time when others could actually be using them.

I know that but I was just wondering I should have posted this before, but will we ever be able to use them since we are a production prof

I'm very thankful I don't have to farm heroics for the things for JCing, bad enough I use them for tailoring.

Off-topic. Alchemy also can't use Chaos orbs You aren't alone!
On-topic. I guess they might add some epic ring-neck and maybe trinket (not sure, there are DMC ones) that would require Chaos Orbs. Also they could add craftable epic wands for enchanters (I believe they are discussing this) so they can use Chaos Orbs aswell.

The only thing JC have ever needed orbs for was the prisms.

Be thankful you don't need a chaos orb this time round.

Remember when anyone could roll on them? herb/mining or herbalism/inscription taking the orbs over someone with blacksmithing/tailoring/engineering/leatherworking. the professions that actually make armor pieces not obscure off pieces like relics and err fist weapons (JC).

Why would you want to have cuts that requires Chaos Orbs? Are you insane? Isn't doing a daily for 1 token a day enough? If they require us to have Chaos Orbs for certain cuts it would mean that you would have to wait 3-4 days for the cut if you don't have it and also farm for the orbs.

Yeah, be careful what you wish for.

Tailoring: 5 chaos orbs = 1 dream cloth.
8 dream cloths (40 chaos orbs) = 1 illusionary bag (yes there are other ways to make dream cloths but stay with me here )
1 illusionary bag sells for 4kg on my server == less than 100g per orb in revenue. hmm in what other profession do chaos orbs net you less than 100g per orb?

40 chaos orbs = 60 hours in random dungeons plus 20 hours queued.

and why are you saying this?
do you really want us to have more expensive things to do ? :P
maybe soon we will have crafted epics like rings and cloth helms then we could use them.

Jewelcrafting makes their money by cutting gems. Other professions make their money by crafting pieces that require Chaos Orbs.

We're lucky that JC doesn't require chaos orbs. Don't screw us now.

I dont like Chaos Orbs because, at the end of a heroic its like, o hey person A has a chance at 2000 gold for free, while I get a chance at nothing. If I have to carry someone through a heroic, I want my goody bag at the end too.

I say, if you get a chaos orb, you lose the Conquest points or Justice points for that heroic. Nobody carried my ass through a heroic for free gold, I shouldnt have to do the same.

Off-Topic: Just as w/Alchemy, Inscription and Enchanting has no current use for them either.

On-Topic: Seriously, if you really want an answer one way or the other, then the best forum to ask this on, would be in the Blizzard forums.

If you honestly wanted to go that route of strictly farming HC's for chaos orbs to make the cloth to sell. Then you would technically making a lot more than 4k off the bag. Let's say roughly 30g via the LFD tool (factoring out repair costs, food, and whatever else have you). That alone would net you 1200g not including boss gold and anything else you would pick up. Yes, you could factor that into the "time."

So in the end you would end up making let's saying 6500g at least off the bag for your 80 hours worth of work equating to ~81g a hour versus the ~50g a hour you proposed. If you were to figure up the other professions they'd all be roughly equal. The main advantage a tailor would have in this case is the ability to "proc" extra cloth off humanoids.

I am glad I don't need Chaos Orbs. I don't want to have to farm heroics and then have to roll on something that I may not even get. Plus I am sure that the other professions would not want to have to compete against JC's for orbs, when they already have enough people competing for them.

    Not necessary.

While I can see your point, you can't blame other people because you didn't pick a crafting profession.

If i may, JC makes enough money as it is. Easily one of the most profitable professions in the game, not to mention the easiest to profit with. So, the need for it to make more money (aka with chaos orbs) isn't really there. It's fine as is.

I agree with this, getting enough orbs to make anything useful is a pain, especially pugging all the hcs. Also today no one will pay more than 150 gold per orb (at least on my realm, even getting 150 per orb would be lucky). Careful what you wish for:P
