    6850 in a prebuilt dell.

Think it would work? I'm not sure how much headroom is available in a standard dell psu (I think it's an xps, this is a friend that i'm asking for) but he's looking to upgrade his graphics card, since he's using an IGP at the moment.

    Thanks.

I'd say you have to check inside the comp itself. It's hard to say otherwise, without more information. Last time I worked with a pre-built Dell, it had some weird ginormous fan cover going from the proc to the external vent that I had to pry off to be able to fit anything else in the case. In addition, you should open it up just to make sure the motherboard has the x16 slot, and that the power supply doesn't need replacing as well; if it's got an integrated card, it's fairly likely to have a fairly weak power supply, and unless Dell has stopped using weirdly shaped proprietary components, that's gonna be a bitch to replace.
