    Level Skipping

Ok my fellow poster, lets see if this sounds good or go downs in the flames of the trolls. This might be a way to get more folks to roll Alts (Blizz says the love alts), give us the abilitey to skip from lvl 60-70 and 70-80. First of all you would need to have done the content before, at least twice. And if they they say they cant work it like they did the Death Knight starting area. Here is a rough idea, feel free to add your ideas to this as well. At lvl 58-59 you get the oppition to go straight to Shatt, there you get sent to Hellfire Pen, you do 5-10 quests and you go up 2 lvls, then off to Zangarmarsh same deal, rinse and repeat thru each zone in Outlands and in less than a day you hit lvl 69-70. Same goes for Northren. This just might be the option that gets folks back into the game and maybe ease some of the big complants about the game

Why in the world would you skip one of the most important/fun parts of the game?

  3. #3
That being 'the most' fun/important part is just your opinion. That's why that's an option. Those who consider that part as the most annoying and boring part of the game should really have this option indeed.

Go play an Insta-85 private server if you don't enjoy leveling an alt, or don't make alts at all

Not necessary. You can blast through Outland and Northrend at such a pace that this would not be required. Especially if you now also have the new heirlooms (back & head) this will go even quicker.

in my opinion this is not required.

Also: I like it when people gain some experience with their classe before reaching max level. It just helps so that they are aware of how their class is being played, what abilities they have, how to use them...

thru each zone in Outlands and in less than a day you hit lvl 69-70.
i do that in a day normal its not hard if you know the quest chains 58 hit hellfire quest to 60 hit zanga to 62 hit terrokar ( mind spelling its late and cbf checking) 64 hit nagrand 66 hit netherstorm to 68 and you're out of there.

I would even welcome a paid service to create a (80)85 level character (if you already have one 85 level character) with a (raid)dungeon (epic)blue quality gear set for each spec. It's a pain to level from scratch after 6 years of playing. I had started a lot of chars to try different classes and only managed to get 3 of them to 80 - and only one to 85. It's a pain to level from 80 to 85 too. Regardless of my desire to get them to 85. It takes too much time too.

The only restriction (apart from having a 85 level character) would be to create a character of chosen class normally and level it to, let's say, 20 (thru the starting areas). So you would know the basics of how the class is played. Then just pay and get it to (80)85 in an instant.

"Poll: would you level a new toon if give the option to skip levels"

confused with the poll, id level a new toon (why wouldnt i?) but i wouldnt use 'skip levels' option as i find it silly.
seeing enough ppl not understanding their class and half abilities their have on alts already, it would only make it worse -.-

The ability to skip 60-70 would be perfect.

I'd happily skip Outland, after doing it about 6 times I'm bored to death of it. Northrend I may not skip though, only did that three times and still haven't really done Schlozar. I would agree about putting requirements on the process though, as I wouldn't like to see more people that don't know how to play their class in RDF in those rare times I go in without a guild group to get the last few VP's after a raid for a bit of gear.

This. The suggestion is even more ridiculous now with guild exp boosts and a plethora of heirlooms (with more on the way). On my last character (#10) I was done with Outland and Northrend in a matter of hours each.

I do wish you could skip northrend. I have 4 alts at lvl 72 now. Simple because I get demoralized as soon as I hit northrend. The starting zones are just mweh, and the instances are not much fun either. I would love to be able to skip that part and be lvl 80 on all of them so I can do cata stuff

you can already do outlands in less than a day.

This is one of the few things I have a strong view on and my view is no. I have four level 85 toons all with epic flying and an full bank guild as well. That doesn't count my non max level alts and my full sets of hierlooms. If you don't have what it takes to grind to 85 then you don't deserve to enjoy max level content.

Please keep in mind I have done cata leveling four times now and I am about to do it for a fifth time on my pally. I have level 85 hunter, mage, warrior, and shaman.

Sounds like rpgs are not your thing, OP. If you don't like leveling (a key intrinsic part of rpgs), then go back to FPS games.
