will this GPU fit in this Mobo?

    Hello

So i am now starting to study on PC's and stuff.

I was wondering about the fat GPU's and their ability to block other components on a MOBO

For instance, I was looking at this Mobo and this GPU

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ImageG...%20Motherboard

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ImageG...20Video%20Card

Now i am wondering, Do you think the GPU i provided will fit into this Mobo without blocking anything, Or hitting something and not even being able to fit at all?

i see some GPU's that are slim and others that are pretty big like this, And just concerns me if they are limited to certain Mobos or something like that. For instance, the Ram pins and the Gigabyte logo thing located behind the PCI-e x16 slot for that GPU concerns me and makes me think it will hit them and not be able to fit?

Unless you use any of the PCI slots between the two PCI-E slots then that card shouldn't block anything else.

I remember when i got a new gpu once (GT 220) and i got the 512mb version just because i thought that my pc is so shit that it somehow wasnt compatible with a gpu with 1 gigs of ram. Fail

The main thing i am wondering is will it block these 2 locations i cirlced in this pic of the mobo with that GPU?

I'm pretty sure it will block 1 .. maybe both of the PCI slots which i do not mind but maing thing i am wondering is will it block / hit the ram to the point where i can not use it / will it hit w,e that black gigabyte thing is

Lol..why would the GPU block anything? All you need is a case that fits. A GPU will never block anything on your mobo.

No, it won't. There's nothing on a motherboard that can block a GPU.

Also, the circle to the left are the RAM slots, those will be pulled upwards when you insert RAM. It won't be blocking your GPU.

Yes, it will dude. If you're buying up to date computer parts, there's nothing that will block your GPU. This is something you shouldn't even have to think about.

Fitting my 11" gpu on my micro atx board was a real pain >_>

I have a 6950 and I have no problems with this.

The main issue with large graphics card is if they can fit into the case. Most motherboards nowdays have all the important stuff placed around were the graphics card goes.

Well 6950 is a sissycard compared to 580 so no valid point.

The 6950 is actually the exact same size as a 580

Also, 6950+ unlock offers far better value/performance than a 580.

http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon...6970-review/18 A few FPS behind the 580 and is a way cheaper card. If anything is a sissy here, it's the 580. Cost too much for the performance it delivers. Also less VRAM than the 6950.
