Reason why? Because frost mages are no where near being overpowered. Frost mages (unless incredibly decked out in half-pve gear with pve trinkets all popped) hit like wet fish against pretty much every single class and ALL the control we have is null against any arena teams that have a class that can dispell on it's team that...you know...actually uses dispells.

Bad player vs Bad player = Mage usually wins. Good player vs Good player = Mage pretty much always loses. < This is the exact reason you have so many people crying about mages - THEYRE BAD!. Don't know about you but I don't think I've ever seen anyone highly rated ever complain about mages this entire expansion. There is a reason for it, it is because this game should pretty much be called World of MeleeCleavecraft.

Frost Mages aren't OP. If you tried using the search function, you actually get a decent response every so often.

The reason they are considered OP is because they are balanced around high end players(or rather 'a dispeller'). Against dispellers Frost Mages are pretty crap and can be trained, thus the only damage they can do is on the move; Ice Lance.

At low end, where they don't have people dispelling all their roots/stuns/etc. they can do a lot of damage very easily, and that makes it look very OP.

Simply put: 1v1 isn't balanced, and Frost Mages are balanced around a dispeller.

Play a mage, that is being spam dispelled, with 2 melee/physical dps training on you in a 3's game. Come back and tell me how much control, dmg and survivability you have then matey

People get frustraded because we can kite them...its fun idd, but once the run ends, the rogue/warrior/......nibbles 25% of your ass like snow under the sun. The point in pvp is to kill the other one, not to get him to 50% (you being at 5%) while he chucks of all your barriers + 10%hp in one hit.

Frost mages were obviously not the same as every other class even at the higher brackets , thats why frost mages got buffs.

Like i saw in one blue post, blizzard want to make more spells undispellable and take some of the mobility away. I just hope, it will be soon.

The only thing about Frost Mages that annoys me is the douches who spam ice lance and nothing else. I swear whenever I hear that spell effect and I want to tear my ears off. I actually did a dungeon with one the other day who basically just spammed ice lance and casted frost bolt maybe 5 times the entire dungeon. We kicked his ass real quick.

To be truly Op you not only have to be op in pvp but be op in pve to.Frost mages do have an advantage over in the lower brackets but in the higher brackets their at a disadvantage.

And how exactly will that affect the low-skilled enviroments where mages are already OP ? ... Not to mention if you check 3v3 bracket ladder you can see that there are 50 mage teams in top 200. No other pure dps class has such strong presence in the top rated teams. If mages are getting buffs, hunters, locks and rogues must be getting complete overhauls.

Does it mean that mage should be the only pure dps class that can comfortably reach high ranks ? Hunter got 20/600, rogue got 30/600, lock got 35/600, mage got 50/600 ... mage is getting buffs, how does that make sence ?

I was talking about top 200, not about 2k+ rating and even in the link you posted mages are the most popular pure dps class ... get your facts straight. Healers will be more popular than any dps class, because they are required for most of the comps, pointless to compare dps class representation to dps/healer class representation.

also class representation on things like arena stats does not tell you wether a class is OP or not. that jsut tells you if a setup is good.
I.e KFC setup is good, hunters in most other setups are terrible.

The class is only as good as the player imo.
