Launcher can't connect

Hello, I'm having some mayor problems with my World of Warcraft Launcher. It says it can't connect to the internet and I'm obviously able to do so. The thing is I everytime I open Internet Explorer it says I'm offline and its asking me if I want to connect. When I do that, afterwards the launcher seems to work perfectly fine. Even though everywhere else I can find it says I'm connected. Now the problem is Internet Explorer has stopped working for me and everytime I try to download a new version it won't install. So..there's gotta be a way to do this without goddamn explorer, anyone have any ideas? (using google chrome atm).
