Im belgian , i live in the netherlands, in both country's we have people saying the same thing.
Wha WHa WHa royalty is costing money, everyone seems to forget, that when they visit foreign nations. They serve a purpose.
Dutch royal family visited japan, their delegation met with their japanese counter parts, that is allot of prestige and publicity.

This delivers on more then one part, both for "bussines" aswell as tourisme, allot of trade is directly influenced by public relations like that.




Second of all it is part of your cultural inheritage, you should be proud of it.

dont worry, you are as ignorant as many britons about the royal family funding and how it works.

the Crown Estate manages the Crown land on behalf of the government. Profits from this land goes to the Treasury i.e. government coffers. In return for this, they get a fixed amount of money per year via the civil list. since 93 the queen and prince of wales have also been paying tax on their various ventures. I would be surprised if this tax and the profits from Crown Land dont more than cover the civil list they get in return.

You took the word feud and made fight out of it..thats so wrong i dont know where to start. Basically it was the King gave lots of nice land and position to friends who would in turn not disobey and give whatever the king asked for in their lands(money, people to fight wars etc..) and 90% of the population were serfs, at complete mercy of the nobles and the king.
