Why do people find this fight so challenging? It's one of the many unanswerable mysteries in life, alongside things like "Does God exist" and "Why are we here?"
9 times over the past week (in a total of about 15 runs of this place, thats all pugs, good and bad) we have had to leave at Venoxis, because people cannot keep up. Normally I tank on my paladin and then I have an alt prot warrior with whom I do the same, and then I have a restoration druid. This gives me a decent insight as to all the roles and to why/how people cock up.
Now, when I pug on my tanks, the healer may as well not be there for all the work he's doing. Even if the dps are on their toes, they still can't be kept alive, even if they avoid all the avoidable stuff on the floor, it's ridiculous. When I heal it on my resto druid, the only unhealable people are the ones in the green beams, but I watch some dps perish from just random AOE, because the healer isn't healing. Then once the Bloodvenom comes, well, it's like watching headless chickens. The amount of people who charge straight into the green beams is completely ridiculous and quite humorous to watch. Only 4 times have I seen in a pug, have I not witnessed all 4 other members run straight into the green stuff as if it gives them mana.
So, what is the point of this post? Well, here it is: http://www.xfire.com/video/46497c/
Thats a video of a Venoxis solo that I did this morning with nothing but my own buffs - kings and a seal. Now I'm sure as hell not going to be a prick and claim its a world first or that it took any sort of skill whatsoever, but see it as a wake up call - a tank, not even in full raid gear, with something like a 357 ilvl or something ridiculous, can solo a boss thats designed for 5 people - there really is no excuse for wiping on this boss than pure stupidity.
So - I implore you - the reason you wipe on this boss is stupidity, not because it is difficult. This is not shameless self promoting but god almighty if I can do this, anyone can. Next time you're in a fail pug, you can go in with the knowledge (if you didn't already know) that this boss is SOLO-ABLE and any people who wipe you on it should be ashamed of themselves. I'm sure any paladin/DK tank could solo this in a few 359s and a bunch of 346.
On the other hand if you like looking for a positive in everything - paladin tanks, you're brilliant no matter what that shit resto druid in cloth says. Put your mind to it and ignore the people telling you you're stupid, and blow them away.
Content is not too easy, peoples minds just lack all sort of consistency to a degree that it should be oozing out their ears.
