Blizzard hasn't confirmed the exact date of it which means the release date doesnt exist yet. They just confirmed beta for q3 which is right around august-sep-aug
Its like when gamestop guesses a date because they're given a slight bit of info. Its just to draw in more $$$ for that product.

No date, given anywhere but on the Official Diablo 3 website or another Blizzard owned and operated site, or to a lesser degree an official press release statment, can be confirmed as legitimate.
Games stores guess release dates all the time, and then change them when actual release dates are known, it's a marketing ploy and nothing more; sorry to say.This is a signature, only a signature. And nothing else.

All we know about Diablo 3 is that the beta will begin in Quarter 3 of this year. Release dates on game store websites for pre-releases are not official sources and should never be quoted as such. They simply slap on whatever date they like.

I dare say that can and will change as the Beta has only just been annonced. Very unofficially by Bashiok on the forums according to Husky.

GameStop had Cata slated in late October or something. :P
Game stores and other merchants slap dates on things all the time to build hype and get people to preorder and such.Words that lots of people don't seem to know the definition of:

As others have said its fake they make up fake dates mostly becos its actuly illegal to sell something that doesent have a release date atleast where i live and when you preorder here you have to pay a small sum usaly 5 euro wich gets drawn off the price later on and they wouldent be able to do that if there was no release date faked or not.

No, it won't be released in September; they're looking to start their beta somewhere between July and September, and they've said that they'd like at least 6 months.
