    Intel® Z68 releases today

    Mainly a reminder to builders.

Check your local stores for pricing, and keep an eye out for reviews.

Other news of interest are that Gigabyte will effectively dump the P67 and H67 boards, focusing exclusively on Z68 boards.

They're also shipping motherboards with an internal mSATA connector.

Interesting...I need to look over the specs on that.

Edit: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4329/i...caching-review is a decent review

Silly people at Gigabyte...they don't have EUFI, which imo still is a pretty big con for most people.

Does uefi actually matter, in the grand scheme of things, though? I mean, I see it as a mere novelty

Let us know how well it works quality wise! It's the one thing that intrigued me about SB.

Not seeing Gigabyte's mSATA Connector? Maybe I'm blind? lol

There are some technical practicalities of it. For one; booting 2TB< volumes.

Also, I plan to test the Intel Smart Response (aka SSD Caching for HDD's) by using a spare 64GB SSD.

    Reportedly the following feature it:
    Z68XP-UD3, Z68XP-D3, Z68AP-D3, Z68P-DS3

Looking at the Gigabyte z68 offerings, I notice that almost all of their board lack the HDMI, DVI, and VGA connectors, and require a discrete graphics card. That's kind of a shame. You won't be able to use iMode with Lucid Virtu on them.

Toms Hardware gave it a review last week, if your expecting some kind of performance increase for gaming don't waste you time.

If you don't have an SSD and are looking for an excuse to upgrade your LGA1156/1366 platform, this is the ideal time IMO.

But if you already have a P67 build aand an SSD then yeah Z68 is pointless unless you really need QuickSync.

The P8X68-V PRO has DVI And VGA. The Gigabyte boards do not have any form of input for monitors to the Intel HD for LucidLogix Virtu.
