Monitor Issues

Hi,

Hoping someone might know what is up with my Monitor!

Ok, so as of last night, my monitor just went black, the green 'on' light turned amber, my pc was still on, but turning monitor off and on then on didn't help.

I hard resetted the pc holding the on button 5 secs for it to reload, when it came back up, everything was fine and no problems rest of the evening.

Today twice now, my monitor goes black, light turns amber, unplugging and replugging the cable hasn't made a difference, again hard resetting makes it work again.
By unplugging the cables I mean I've unconnected from the pc, and also at the mains, and replugged in.

Not sure if it means my monitor is on the fritz or not?

If you need anymore info let me know, it is about 4 years old now, dunno if that makes a difference.

Try the monitor with another computer aswell, and seeing as you are resetting your pc, it might aswell be the GPU. So try the monitor with another pc or try another GPU.

What is the make/model of the monitor?
Did it turn black while actively using it or when it was left alone?

Two common issues are 1) the cable is going bad 2) the backlight is failing
