Arena mounts - I'm ok with everything else, but this...it's just disgusting...

Every little things Blizz did in cata like simplify everything, making wow a solo-mmorpg, alot of homogenization..
I'm ok with all of it, really I am. I don't like it but they're not something that'd make me cancel subscription..

But now that I've seen how Cata Arena drakes will look like and how little work has been put into them, I feel extremely disappointed with whoever is leading wow development atm.
They took a almost 2.5 year old mount and put ugly (subjective, some might like it) armor on it and made it a ultimate reward, something to show off with for the next 2 years for Pvpers.

I mean, how much lazier can they get? And please don't tell me Twilight Drake fits the expansion.. Alot of other things could also fit it, and yet they did the one with the least work.

In the past having arena mount meant something, in wotlk you didn't see frost wyrm for non-pvpers untill 3.3, so whoever had it was THE person to look at.
Same in TBC, nether drakes were really hard to get untill later in the expansion, and even then they stood out.

But now if you wanna look similar to that dude who achieved top spots in Arena, make a raid group and go kill one boss from last expansion that's 2 and a half years old.
It takes 20, maybe 30 min. And bam there you have it, mount almost exact same as the person with Gladiator.

What's next expansion, Gladiator's Armored Bronze Drake?

Edit: Changed title to be more descriptive.

I doubt someone who would whine about this would be good enough to ever get it.

    Just sayin'

A mount is as beautiful as its way of being obtained.

Some might disagree, but hell, Even if you got a pink hippogryph, people would still know you got it by being really awesome at PvP.

Or, they were just a DK/HPal comp in 2s.

Anyways, I still use my Nether Drake instead of nearly every other mount that I have. I really like the model and look of them though.

Also, another "Bronze Drake" reference? Isn't that one getting a tad overused?

Didn't you know? Anytime blizz releases a mount that is either:
    1. not related to an achivement
    Or
    2. a reskin

it automatically becomes a bronze drake?

I think it's dumb that there is a mount reward that is unobtainable by any other means from arena. (also hate that there are those RBG only mounts now). Considering how unbalanced arena is (face it, its true) gladiator is mostly about getting an OP team and being mostly intelligent with how to exploit everything.

Yes, I personally am good enough where I can get them. But it's not worth server transferring just to find good pvpers :/

Bam. One member of your 10-25 raid has something to show for the last half hour. No one else gets squat.

Lets make it fair and we'll do it once a week so everyone in the raid can get the mount. Awesome! 3-6 months later everyone has the mount!

    THAT SOUNDS AWESOME!

TBC > Nether drakes - from Rep

WotLK > Undead Frost Wyrm thingies > Drop

    Cata > QQ > QQ > QQ > QQ >QQ

PVP mount were ALWAYS armored version of mounts that were relative to the current expansion.

The person to look at? Is this what people do on the game? Stare at other people in awe because of the pixels they are sitting on? No wonder there's so many threads about being bored with the game.

Nobody cares what drake you are on I don't look at other peoples drakes. Now even though I don't Arena what I do care about is armor and MR, basically these are your status items. I don't Arena I thought I might when I first started playing Wow... But let's face it the balance is weird and when I started Ret Paladin was off healer. To tip toe through the nonsense Blizzard has made out of what they want to label as "competitive" what a joke. It is already boring to have to learn all the classes and all the proper counters but with Blizzard always changing things right now on top of it that kills my motivation to try. Are you sure mounts are where you want Blizzards attention?

just wait for it, someday we'll have the "Gladiator's sparkle shitting Pony" mount

I'm not a huge fan of the new drake model, but those who have it will still love it, i certainly don't have a high enough rating... so i don't care! wooot

Also, Time Lost Proto-Drake and Phosphorescent Stone Drake > ANY gladiator or raid mount (except maybe the rare drops, only if your guild rolls for them and doesn't do the stupid oooooh officer/GM deserves it crap).

Not in arenas. I can't say I understand how the PvP mounts are related to the PvE content. Don't the neutral goblin factions run the arenas? Where are they getting these dragons from?

I agree, they should take out the gladiator mounts entirely.

People who PvP for mount rewards aren't really playing the game at all.

You mean IF you saw one around you just went "Oh they got it just because they were the OP spec/class of the season or ran the OP comp for the season." Because that's what a majority of those are, yes some get it because they are good, but most just get it because they had the balance scales tipped in their favor.

I always thought have mounts like that for PvP was stupid. I could understand if they were the same as the PvE ones as you could "choose your path" to how you wanted to work for what you achieve.
