i like the idea of this traveler guy, really sells the feeling that vampires are on the attack. really hope they don't remove it... just make him a one time spawn and really hard to catch.

I actually really like the idea of NPC's being at risk of dying when you're not there. It adds a lot of depth and danger to the game world, though I suppose for PC users it is preferable since we've the ability to revive most of the NPC's that perish if we really want or need to.

Yeah, I agree. I'm not sure how difficult it would be to code, but it'd be great if in future titles an NPC dying led to his or her home and possessions to be taken over by another randomly generated character with a lore friendly name based on their race and gender. Of course, the name of the home on maps, keys and doors would need to be changed as well. If they provide a service, then it should definitely be replicated by whoever moves in, though after a week or so of in-game time.
I mean, it'd make the world feel more alive and give the darker characters a continual pool of NPC's to kill. I tend to avoid playing an assassin simply because I don't like making large settlements feel empty. I think it'd be an excellent compromise that'd allow a greater level of danger to exist in the game world across the board without screwing over the player too badly.
Other NPCs taking over the task of their dead relatives is another feature that was hyped before the game's release but is nowhere to be found in the final product.
I started a new character a while ago and as I entered Winterhold, Birna got killed by a bear while she was arguing with her brother. She's the one who gives you the claw for Yngol Barrow. It was nowhere on her corpse nor in her house, so the only way to get it was through dialog with her. Now there's no way of getting into that place without cheating.
I was wondering what happened to that feature. Always makes me sad when a feature that is being promoted for a new game doesn't make it in. Crackdown, for example, was supposed to have these glasses that your character could wear to see hidden messages on billboards, like mission objectives or leaderboard stats - the example they used was a billboard would display the furthest a player fell to their death if I'm remembering correctly - and I thought it would be an interesting way for them to tie in a would be menu option into the actual game world.
Got skyrim on xbox on release, went to town on it and finished nearly everything in 75 hours of gameplay. I would have gone back to make another character but the fact that it takes 30 ingame days to reset dungeons really put me off because it meant I essentially had to find all the dungeons to do more exploring which got more and more tedious because 99% of the time I would run into one I already cleared. I loved oblivion because you didn't really have to worry about such a thing. Has this been patched or can it be easily fixed on PC as I'm thinking of trading min my xbox copy for a PC one.
On a completely unrelated note, why the hell can I not marry Hadvar? I'm sure I'm not the only one who after meeting him decided they'd marry him...only to then learn that it was impossible. There's some decent options for marriage in the original game, don't get me wrong, but it could and should have been more intricate and in-depth.
The same can be said of the likes of Maven Black-Briar. Given the sort of influence and frequent encounters the Dragonborn can have with certain key NPC's, it baffles me that they're unable to be married outside of mods. Even with a mod, there's no actual spoken marriage dialogue in the original voices, which cheapens it.

Anyone else had a massive FPS hit since patch 1.6.9?
Game's currently unplayable for me at the moment, lots of other people having the same issue. Definitely isn't mods, people have done clean installs and are still having the same drop in FPS.
Could be related to driver issues. After the patch, I got strange graphical artifacts that disappeared once I lowered the AA settings.
Does someone know of a modteam thats working on adding new areas to the game world not just putting a cave/keep/dungeon somewhere in the existing world? I don't mean a Total Conversion either.
Well, Moonpath to Elsweyr is a great mod, it's a trip to Elsweyr, province of the Khajiit. IMO, needs alot more endorsements on Nexus. It's a really great mod. Fully voiceacted and is basically an expansion pack.

I just hope PC/PS3 players get rewarded for having to wait for Dawnguard by having it be less riddled with bugs than the 360 version.

I also hope PC players will have a bug free experience, and maybe new crossbows plus the option to marry Serana.
