    Logitech, short lasting products?

I see people rave about various Logitech products, like the gaming keyboards and whatnot.

However, a simple mouse and three pairs of the same USB headphones w/mic, crapped out on me in < 1 years worth of use. So I figure if they can't make their low-end products last, I just won't buy anything from them.

They make some pretty kick-ass looking stuff though, but I just can't imagine spending $50+ on something that I presume is going to die, and I'll have the hassle of warranty/ect to deal with.

So, am I just extremely unlucky? Are their cheaper products just that, cheaper? Do their higher end products last? What's your experience?
    Moo.

I've never heard of their keyboards crapping out on people. But their low end stuff, yeah that stuff is meant to break so you buy new ones

    Oh I have a $15 Microsoft mouse that's lasted 3+ years of FPS gaming. That's a low-end product that's lasted.

I go through 2 pair of Logitech headphones a year. I own a expensive wireless headset as well but they hurt my ears, they apply to much pressure around the frames of my glasses and I get the feeling if I try to strech them a bit they will snap at the clasp. The cheapo logitechs I get from Wal-Mart are just right for extended use, I would gladly replace them 2 times a year than to have paid over $120 for one that hurts after 45 minutes.

MX Revolution: 4 years until I sat on the reciever and the USB plug broke off.

    G15: 5 years
    G35: 4 years
    G13: 2 years

All the G series gear is sitting right in front of me, not damaged and working perfectly.
Honestly, I think most of their products kick ass.

I own the Logitech G510 since it came out, still works. It's a pain to clean, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. This is coming from a guy who used a Razer Lycosa for the past 2 years.

Now I think about it, a lot of my Logitech stuff doesn't last that long. A year, 2 years max. Headsets are the worst, but I do get a lot of use out of them. For the price most Logitech stuff is, it's not a major issue for me.

I have a MX518 that I bought 6 years ago for $30 - still kicking ass, love that mouse.
I have a logitech headset thats entering its 4th year and still kicking ass - $20.

I've also recommanded logitech products to clients and friends, I have clients who use the cheap wireless sets for over 7 years now and still going strong.

So you're either just very unlucky, or............ you're one of those that bash their mouse on the desk and toss their headset across the room everytime you get your ass kicked by someone :P

After an old SNES controller met it's fate lying in a garbage can in twain, I realized temperament + technology = expensive.

I like that ya'lls personal experiences with the G series is positive.

My G15 Keyboard has been going 2 years and is still working fantastic. As for other logitech products... Well i once bought a headset and it broke after 5 days use. I didn't even use it much, and i was very careful with it. Ended up paying the extra money and picking up a good headset with a lifetime warranty.

I've owned the G15 gaming keyboard for over 3 years now and the G9 mouse for over a year and theyre still working perfectly. Since i work from home, i'm constantly gaming everyday, allday. Considering the amount of use i've put into them i'm very happy with logitechs reliability and performance

I thought their products are pretty good. At least my keyboard still works flawlessly after 3 years and it's been through ... a lot.

my MX518 started glitching in the wiring around the mouse-base due to the lack of something to prevent that. that being said I haven't experienced logitech products being subpar to any other products in the same field.

Unlucky i guess, i still use the same Logitech mouse i bought years ago. Not sure how long, but it was made in 2001 (Happy 10th anniversary mouse!! ). I also have a Logitech Ultra-Flat keyboard which still works perfectly. I only had to replace my last (also Logitech) because i accidentally spilled some soda over it. Oh and this here Logitech 2.1 THX certified speaker set is also still going strong.

It's not that i don't want any other brand though, my second choice would be Microsoft. Anyway, i hope your new stuff lasts longer.

I've got a 15$ logitech headset, has lasted me a year and a half(Still going) and is the best headset I've had in terms of sound, and the mic.

I've also been using the same Logitech mouse for a long, long time. Has a crack in it, but that's it.(Turns out 'long long time' is only a year and 3 months or so, meh. Still works perfectly. The mouse)

havent had any problems with the headsets(g330) and ive been using g500 mouse for a very long time. if you take care of the gear you shouldnt have any issues.

Iv had no problems with there gear. Used a cheapo mic that i found laying around the house for over 3 years. G15 keyboard been useing for around 2 years. Just recently got a G930 headset

It's nothing to do with luck or the product design. It is everything to do with how you keep it. I have and use daily a £25 headset, which has lasted me several years. Therefore, logitech are fine.
