    [Anime] Full Metal Alchemist

I almost finished watching the 2003 anime of FMA, and i have some questions for those who saw it:
    - is it worth it watching the 2009 version ?
    - which one did you thought was best ?
    - is there a difference in art styles or does it look the same ?

    thanks
when i die ... i won't drop any loot mwhahahaha

Personally I like both of them, but from what I can remember they both have different endings. And I think there is more action in the newer version. Also you has to check the movie if you haven't!!!
    It was really awesome.

I love FMA, in fact it's the only Anime I can stand so far.

    The 2003 series was good.

    Brotherhood is better.

They look the same, the newer ones are smoother and clearer. If you're watching dubs, you'll notice Alphonse's voice has changed.
    Lolinternet.

    - Yes, it's definitely worth it. Maybe a good idea to not start with it right away though.
    - Both have their pro's and cons, but overal de 2009 version wins for me.
    - Both art style and story are more shounen for the 2009. Which is probably the only minor con for me compared to the 2003 version, which is slightly more mature.

The first one was good up to about halfpoint.
The second one, Brotherhood, is awesome from the very first till the very last moment. MUCH better than the first one (which was already top too).

Brotherhood is 10x better than the 2003 version, its the actual story. the 2003 version isn't the actual story that is portrayed in the FMA manga.

I've red somewhere that in the older version the ending is not from the original makers/story writers? But the newer version is. This might not be treu so dont quote me please :P The movie does if i remember correctly move along with the ending of the older serie.

Personally I like the older version the most. It's so more beautiful, I had to whipe some tears away at the end.
    I'd suggest you watch both.

    1. Yes
    2. I like FMA Brotherhood more. The Story is better imo and the Animations and Battles are better. But its not that funny like the first Anime
    3. The Style ist the same, but the Animations and Special Effects are better.

i think 2009 is the best! my recomendation: you wasted your time watching the 2003 version.
is pretty much the same art. some digital improvements.

Only the first ~8 episodes of the old Anime were true to the manga original. From there on until the end they just made shit up (which the end clearly showed, it was very convoluted).

The new series is basically a scene-for-scene adaptation of the manga.

@some poster: If you liked FMA, you could give Code: Geass a try.

Well if you want a anime some fucked up humor I would recommend Gintama, I've only watched 15episodes out of the 210 and it's just so fucked up funny imo.

Agreed. The original FMA was fun and all, but Brotherhood is, frankly, the real story as the artist intended it. If you have to pick only one, watch Brotherhood. The only downside: No Nazi's to stomp.

Envy's a bitch. But Greed, goddamit, he's as badass as he is likeable.
