    Gemming Question for tanking.

    http://us.battle.net/wow/en/characte...druid/advanced

    Theres my armory first off...

So people have been saying not to stack stam, and atm im stacking stam and mastery, been wondering if i should go agility instead. Agi gems for red, agi+mastery for ylw and agi+stam for blue, or just Agi for bad set bonus's

Yellow should be agi+dodge other than that what you said is correct. (Unless you're raiding hardmodes in which case you will need stamina)

Agility gives: dodge, crit, AP. crit means more savage defense procs, AP means bigger savage defense procs.

stam gives: health, slightly larger savage defense procs via higher vengeance values

dodge gives: dodge slightly better than agi, point for point.

mastery gives: bigger savage defense procs, significantly moreso than stam or agility

The correct answer, IMO, is "on a purely physical boss, agi, agi/mastery, and agi/stam", on any other type of boss (which is every boss, mind you), there's going to be some value of stam and agi and mastery that feels right, but there's no magic number. Gem how you feel works best, or how your healers feel is easiest to heal through.

Honestly though just scroll back through the last week of threads. There's probably 7 different discussions on this, with pages of replies. Search is your friend. :/

Agility is king if you are raiding normal content
Agility + Stamina mix is essential for Hard Modes

There isn't a correct answer, as the poster above me so rightly pointed out, it depends on your raid, your healers and how often your dying and what your dying too. If the thing that's killing you is an unavoidable magical attack then a bit more stamina wouldn't go a miss, if what's killing you is ANYTHING else other than magic, then Agility will be your chosen stat regardless.

A few things i'd change to your gear on first inspection, considering your at the exact point that me and my guild are at i think i can offer a decent opinion

Do not reforge to mastery :/, at all. Mastery is a fantastic stat but its valued at less than half of what dodge is. You should aim to collect pieces of gear with the secondary stats being either Crit (ideally), Expertise, Haste, Hit + Mastery. And you will then have enough mastery from your gear to get to the magic 20 number. So to that end:

Head - Reforge the haste to dodge. But ideally you want the BoE drop from BoT
Neck - Get an agility one, even a blue 346 with mastery will be more beneficial to you
Cloak - Get an agility one with mastery, enchant it with armor rather that 16 agility
Chest - Gems need changing to Agility + Dodge, reforge the haste to dodge not mastery
Wrists - Reforge the haste to dodge, enchant with 50 agility if you can afford it, 50 dodge if not
Gloves - Gem with agility + dodge, reforge the haste to dodge
Boots - Gem agility + dodge
2nd ring - Get and agility one
1st trinket - Reforge the hit to dodge, not mastery
Relic - Get an agility one, the PVP one is very easy to obtain and i believe(correct me if i'm wrong)its BiS. Gem it with 40 agility as its a free gem slot

Doing all that will net you about 3.7% dodge at the lost of about 4 mastery. But you really do need to get some better pieces of gear. Steer clear of strength stuff, its pretty dire as it is at the minute, be close to useless in 4.2 when the AP modifier of strength is halved. Oh and you can spec into KoTJ now without increasing your damage taken by 10%, its personal preference really but even your 1 point in stampede will be put to better use in KoTJ.

You should switch Fluid Death to BH trinket which have mastery and on use spell resistance and reforge mastery to dodge, use ability give u about 50% spell dmg reduction which is for all most all fights really nice
