Warlock startup time, is there any class longer?

Here's all the stuff we have to do coming back to life:
Some of these spells are "instant" but still take a GCD.

Fel Armor: 1.5s
Summon Imp: 6s (if you're dead, most likely you used all your shards)
Soul Link: 1.5s
Create Healthstone: 3s
Buff food: 10s
Scroll of Intellect: 1.5s
Soul Harvest (to restore shards): 9s
Dark Intent: 1.5s
Create Soulstone (if necessary): 3s
Cast Soulstone (if necessary) 3s

That's 40 seconds. I try to tell people a warlock takes a long time to restart. They'll do a mass rez and think everyone is ready to go in 10 seconds.

How do you deal with this?

I'll skip Soul link and food and fit them in later. Also I may delay doing the Soulstone if it is not up. Still almost 30 seconds to be ready for combat.

If you were Brez'd you won't make a healthstone most of the time, you cant eat, and you can't soul harvest, and you should already have a soulstone ready, and you may still have 1 or more soulshards to summon your pet.

So being battle rez'd you have to recover by doing:
Fel Armor: 1.5s
Summon Pet: 1.5s
Dark Intent: 1.5s

Total time: 4.5s

If you are talking about recovery after a wipe:
Fel Armor: Instant - Cast on way to boss
Dark Intent: Instant - Cast on way to boss
Intellect Scroll: Instant - Cast on way to boss
Summon Pet: 6s
Soul Link: 1.5s
Summon Soulwell: As long as it takes 2 retards to click the portal
Food Buff: 10s - Everyone does this...
Create Soul Stone: 3s

Total "Additional" time: 10.5s + As long as it takes 2 retards to click the portal

Most of the time, you'll have at least 10 seconds to summon your pet as those 1-2 people who are slower than everyone else for whatever reason, get back to the boss... unless you're that person.

TL;DR
After Brez - Recovery Time - Kindof a pain...
After Wipe - Recovery Time - Who gives a s****?

Try being battle rezed as a prot paladin:

Group: "Quick tank get this stuff off me!"
Me: "I just got B-rezed wtf you want me to do with no mana?"
Group: /wipe

Spells cost base mana, mana restored by Brez is total mana... this doesn't matter for prot paladins, as both are very comparable since the only +int they have is from their race.

Hand of Reckoning - 3% mana cost
Blessing of Kings - 19% mana cost
Glyph of BoK - Reduces Kings to 9.5% mana cost
Total mana cost - 12.5%
Soulstone - Grants 30% mana
Rebirth - Grants 20% mana
Raise Ally - Grants 20% mana
Total mana gained - 20-30% - Without using Divine Plea

How exactly do you not have mana to taunt?

Trying to be optimistic of course.

If it's a Cata Heroic where I don't need the extra INT and most of the time we make it through with no fatalities, then I'm cheap and use a scroll and fish heads.

For ZA/ZG, it's a flask and fish heads.

You can actually just pop a soulburn and insta summon your pet while running back and also cast soul link while running after you do that.

This only works for most wipes....not the wipes after really long attempts where someone screws up at the end.

I really don't find it an issue since someone is almost always lazy or forgets to buff regardless. I'm usually one of the first to be ready after a wipe.

I support this initiative to lower warlocks start up time, it is so annoying on progressive fights where we are wiping on 50% - 3% boss health. On these fights I have already used all my soul shards on instant souls fires and after we wipe i don't have spare one to summon imp and use soul link while running back, so i get ready pop up usually mid doing all this things in boss room.

Blizzard should change soul shards mechanic in a way that we always have all 3 when we are resurrected. This will help in BG's too, as i am always last one that jumps of graveyard because of soul-harvest that lasts 10seconds.

getting mass rezzed sometimes brings you back with shards, whereas other times, you have zero, which is a bit odd, regardless of the amount you had upon death. getting yourself ready can be bloody frustrating sometimes, though i think spriests also have a whole bunch to do before they can go too. as has been said, if you have a shard spare, doing as much as you can whilst running back helps, but on the mass-rez-with-no-shard-wipes, i'm one of the last ready... and then you have to find 2 people to click your soul well, which must be invisible to some, i'm sure

Why would you be using a scroll? you most likely get that buff from your group, now that buffs have had their ranges removed, you can be buffed from anywhere in the same raid.

Ya it sucks to lose your pet that much i agree on i mostly run off and buff while my healers heal me that is if i die at all.
