I havn't seen any majority of people admit to liking Wrath like it was the best expansion ever. You just seem to WANT people to go in some retarded loop..

    WoW 1 Awesome
WoW 1 Awesome - TBC Sucks
WoW 1 Awesome - TBC Awesome - Wrath Sucks
WoW 1 Awesome - TBC Awesome - Wrath Awesome - Cata Sucks

    Correct version goes like this

    Wrath is Awful

I loved WOTLK the first time i leveled to 80. The second time made me drink a full bottle of rum.

I enjoyed CATA except Deepholm, that place arghh i didnt even finish half of the zone. But overall CATA is better than WOTLK but TBC was the best.

The people saying cata is worser than wotlk is just a typical whiner. Cata is great except to few stuffs to do at 85.

TBC felt like an expansion, WOTLK brought some cool stuffs but CATA just feels like a patch, really. But as i said, CATA is better than WOTLK. Well maube thats just me.

Sorry for the bad language im on my iphone.

I'd say the only good expansion was TBC, it rocked the world, man!

most people that hate cata hate it because they cant clear content like they could in wrath except for maybe ulduar, even now at the end of this tier im still having problems pugging normal heroics on my 353 pally tank alt cause dps is too low, heals are bad, people somehow still dont know mechanics and blame the healer for not dispelling them when they could have completely avoided it.
on my main pugging is a bit easier cause i can make sure stuff dies before people can fail, but thats just NORMAL heroics, never mind za/zg or raids..... where tanks generally out dps the dps

from my experiences many people just cant handle the "hard" game they wanted wow to be

Having started in wrath I enjoyed it quite a bit. Raiding was new and exciting for me for most of the expansion, and by the end I had Shadowmourne. So for me it was fun fun fun. Cataclysm is a fine expansion, but I've started to get bored of the game simply because I've played it for too long.

Personally I have no idea how someone could play from release till now, I'd go bonkers lol. After cataclysm I will be done with the game permanently, maybe even before then if my guild implodes!

    What I loved about Wrath:

    1. The story
    2. The villain
    3. The zones
    4. The music
    5. 10man raids
    6. Archavon & friends
    7. ULDUAR
    8. The Weekly Raid

    My biggest disappointments with Cata:

    1. The story
    2. The villain(s)
    3. The zones

Some of the Cata zones are fun, and/or well designed, but they lack any cohesion. Twilight Highlands has zero to do with Stonecore. I remember in Wrath, where I had to escort the taunka from Borean into Dragonblight... the zone had a transition, it had a connection. Same with Scourge spilling down from Icecrown into Sholazar. Seriously, what do we do in Uldum... we fart around with Indiana Jones for more than half the zone. It's fun, or funny, but it doesn't feel like I'm fighting Deathwing... even with the inclusion of two black dragons working with Schnottz.

Cata... underwhelming story, underwhelming villain(s). It feels thrown together, like two or three smaller expansions crammed into one, with slapdash efforts made to connect them.

Nostalgia my friend, Nostalgia. That and rose-tinted glasses. In BC everyone hated BC and loved vanilla, in WOTLK everyone hated WOTLK and loved BC, and now in Cata everyone hates Cata and loves WOTLK. That's just how nostalgia works.

Go ahead and crucify me but I enjoyed most of Lich King. I know, crazy. Burn the witch!

I've been playing since Vanilla with 2 active account, 12 80s, 4 85s, my hunter has 11k achievement points and 20+ feats of strength including the original Amani bear, Hand of A'dal, Champ of the Naaru, etc. etc. I'm not a Wrath Baby. I've done my fair share of grinding, running 100 miles on foot in the snow up hill both ways junk.

WotLK was just...more relaxing I guess you could say. Raids weren't so cut throat, dungeons were quick and painless, getting gear on alts was enjoyable, and I could bring any toon I wanted to the raid that night if I was bored of another.

So yeah, I enjoyed Lich King because it was easier. After BC, it was a nice break and a growing family and social/work lifestyle has put a damper on my game time so that was nice, too.

"I loved WOTLK, Cata ruined it for me"

"I loved BC, WOTLK ruined it for me"

"I loved this game before BC ruined it for me"

I swear, this site will just auto-generate topics using the above formula until the end of the internet and they'll just have more and more hits.

Cata sucks- everything about it, nothing is original anymore
WotLK sucked harder- Ulduar was the only thing I enjoyed, long waits for pathetic patches, plus I hate the cold/ice theme
TBC was a revolutionary- it changed the game so much, and it took me a while to be persuaded how awesome the changes actually were
Vanilla- classic, the game that started it all, not refined at all and it would be crap to play it now, but at the time it was all new and exciting

In summary, the expansions are generally getting worse though, original ideas are running out (you could see that in WotLK, reuse of models. armour and instances) and [maybe I'm wrong] but it seems the devs have lost their passion for design. Also, the attmept to balance the game between casual and hardcore seems to be doing more harm than good (by my observations, I couldn't care less)

Cataclysm is the first WOW that doesn’t have a warcraft game support in the background. One thing about WoTLK is that it hooks people from warcraft to join WOW because you could face Arthas and continue the warcraft history.
I am still waiting that blizz will come up with a warcraft version of Cataclysm

So basically its WOW now that holds the entire history of the warcraft universe, and that’s why there are some separate thoughts about it in the matter of lore.
Now, do i believe cata ruined the game? Well....to be honest i would have preferred another LK roaming the earth or Arthas coming back from the death, but that’s just me because i loved warcraft games. The whole idea of new "not previous history" end boss it felt somehow (at least for me) kind of empty.

I hate BC, bring back vanilla!
I hate WotLK, BC was awesome!
I hate Cataclysm, WotLK was awesome!

I see a pattern here. It's quite amusing, because I remember people saying even before Cataclysm was launched that we'll have people hating on it and looking at WotLK through massive rose-tinted glasses... like the OP.

Personally, I think every single expansion had some major flaws and some really good things, and this still doesn't change the fact that I love this game and have many, many good memories with my raiding guild.

Man, I've had fun playing this game since it began. Nothing's ruined anything for me. Sure, there was that magical time in Vanilla when everything was brand new and shiny and unexplored and I had no idea how to play my class and the raids were scary and the dungeons were scary and everything was scary and awesome.

But yeah. I just find whatever I like to do most in an expansion and do it. Currently, that means 2s, raiding with people who don't cry about hardmodes, and iron-manning as many old raids as I can, alone or with a buddy for funsies. Oh and dailies with pals, too.
Arguing on the internet is like...

I agree, although I doubt there are Wrath babies who are loving Cata, because then either they weren't Wrath babies to begin with, or they grew up and are now ready to fly like a pretty bird. Don't confuse Wrath baby (someone who started in Wrath and QQs about anything being remotely hard or not being handed to them on a plate) with a regular player that started in Wrath
OT, the only people who are complaining about Cata are the ones who struggle in Heroics and can't get easy PuG runs off Trade. Once 4.2 hits the T11 content will become puggable and a lot of this QQ will stop.

Also Eis, when I work out what those times are in British Time, I might watch some of your streams

ICC had a charm none of the current cata raids can match, and ive always been a sucker for the Lich King (huge fan of wc3)

So yes, i liked Wrath more than Cata in terms of visuals atleast.

  18. #58
    Personally.
Wrath was definitely a cooler theme than Cataclysm.

    BA-DUM-TISS!

Clearly this expansion is so great. That's why Blizzard's player count is rising so steadily compared to all other expansions.

    OH WAIT...

Personally Pre-BC and even a little bit of BC were good to me as far as content goes. I had fun in WOTLK but it had nothing to do with the expansion itself.

    Who loved wotlk, really? :/
