    A female vocalist I haven't seen anyone mention yet is Kathrine Katz. She lends her talents to Agoraphobic Nosebleed and Salome.

    I don't think everyone will like her as her voice is certainly distinctive but she has one of the best screams in metal.

    Not anymore but you can't have a metal vocalist thread without acknowledging the greatness that was Geoff Tate (Queensryche). Maybe the best I've ever heard.

    Jorn Lande is tremendous, and my favorite project of his is Ark - Burn the Sun.

    Tons of great ones mentioned here - I'll add Daniel Gildenlow from Pain of Salvation. He's a great singer in terms of versatility and emotional depth.

    Russell Allen from Symphony X is also pretty damn good.

    1. Kai Hansen, ex Helloween and currently with Gamma Ray, visited very many power metal bands around the europe, pioneer of power metal, started the revolution of thegenre, he should be a lot more known, his voice is really unique and he also play quitar, very very talented and good person.
