    PS3 and Xbox360 - Horizontal or Vertical

Like the title says, how do you prefer to set your PS3 and/or Xbox360, horizontally on it's "belly" or standing it up vertically.

And for what reasons did you choose this setup?

mine is horizontal cos thats where it fits in my entertainment unit

I place my 360 vertically, I don't really know why just always have. Always had the ps3 horizontally though because its a little heavy and feel more comfortable with it like that.

I keep both my Xbox360 and PS3 vertical, due to it taking less space on the shelf I set them on, but I've read that the PS3 slim runs cooler laying flat, and the 360 has a nasty tendency to leave some scratching on discs when set vertically, not sure if either of those are true however.

I have both my PS3 and 360 laying flat. My Wii I have vertical on its stand it came with. I have my 360 and PS3 flat so I can put other systems on top of it and I also just don't trust gravity so I rather not risk it tipping over.

    Always horizontal

    PS3 Horizontal
    360 vertical

Anyone who has their xbox standing up needs to put it down on its side, Not only are you covering up a major air vent but standing up it puts major stress on the DVD player and will burn it out much faster.

    Horizontal all day erryday

    It's such a necessity with cats >.>

Xbox 360: Horizontal. It almost busted because it was vertical. One day while I was playing it was lightly tapped and it made the scariest noise. Then all of my friends basically said they've heard the exact same story from other Xbox's. So horizontal forever.

PS3 right now is vertical because it fits that way.

Meh. I have the same Xbox that I bought in 2005 (pro?) and it has been Vertical this whole time. It doesn't block any vent and it still plays DVDs just fine.

I moved my Xbox once while Mirror's Edge was in it (I had JUST bought the game!) and it made a noise. The game was ruined. So, i dont move my Xbox when a disc is in it... hell I dont move it at all.

Horizontal if you have pets. Vertical if you want to be fashionable.

How I prefer to set my console: Horizontally
How I actually have it set up due to the lack of space: Vertically

Having gone through multiple CSR, and multiple tiers of CSR's trying to get Microsoft to refund the games my Xbox 360 has put circle scratches into, I finally got them to tell me that the Xbox360 was never intended to be placed vertical, at least not the old white one.

Horizontal as it has a small table for itself and otherwise it won't fit with the decoration of the room.

Only fits horizontally in my cabinet, but my city has been having reasonably sized re-occurring earthquakes, so vertical anything isn't a particularly good idea.

    Horizontal

Horizontal, Xbox 360. Looks more accurate to me
