What is your Favorite Fallout game?

The Fallout Franchise has always been a interesting game for me. It's a Dark, Gory Post Apocalyptic World with a 1950's feel that seems strange, but oddly believable. There have also been many great games in the Franchise, and I am sure we all have our opinions on what our favorite is. What is yours?

For future's sake, I personally am looking forward to the Fallout MMORPG. How could you possibly go wrong with a Fallout MMO?... don't answer that.

Also, to those who are interested, the entire Fallout Franchise is on sale on Steam for another day. You can get Fallout 3 and all its DLC for 22 dollars, New Vegas for 14 dollars and Fallout 1 and 2 for 5 dollars. All great games in their own way, and next to nothing right now.

    Fallout 2, what a classic.

It has been quite a while since I played it, but it is still one of the better Fallouts.

Fallout 3 is going to be my favorite however. I just like it a lot more, and wish Fallout: New Vegas did better than it did.

Fallout 3 is probably the worst of them all. It has nothing to do with the Fallout universe. Its simply a story set within it.

The best? Definitely Fallout 2. That isn't to say that Fallout 1 and Fallout: Tatics aren't good, but they are barely below Fallout 2 in-terms of gameplay, story, and overall composition. Fallout New Vegas was a push in the right direction, but thanks to a metric asston of bugs, the experience was ruined quite a bit. Also, seeing the game play engine blatantly ripped from Fallout 3 just pissed me off like crazy. Brotherhood of Steel could have been fun, but the controls were horrible.
I mostly play fighting games these days.

Fallout 3 followed by new Vegas. I tried playing fallout 2 but after about 2 hours in I got sick of it, not to mention I hate turn based games

Imo fallout 3 was quite bad. You had to download a mod or 3 just to make it a bit realistic and fun imo. The default game was beyond easy.

Oh and the fact that no one actually ROLEPLAYS the game but just makes a character who kills everything in seconds is quite a disgrace too.

I have to say New Vegas. I played it first and after that, Fallout 3 seemed so flawed. The speech check system seemed odd and it was much harder to play without using VATS so I never really finished it.

Fallout 2. Everything after is crap compared.

Fallout 2. Made Man, Porn Star, Prize Fighter, Proud Member of the Brotherhood, Killer of entire towns (but a loving care-giver for my wasteland mutt), Married (and pimping spouse).

    GOOD TIMES.

Well, I guess that was just you then, when it comes to mods. I never had to install a Mod to enjoy FO3.

I also never really played the game to just shoot everything, unlike the idiot First Person Shooter Fans who had no idea Fallout is a RPG They just skip through conversations because they want to get back to shooting. I enjoyed the game-world, and did just about every side mission in FO3 (some side missions were better than the main story, IMO).

I liked Fallout 3 the best, however I like the custom ammo thing in New Vegas as well. You can't get me to play New Vegas all the way through, or with the same intensity that I did with 3 because imo, 3 was simply better.

I like Fallout 3 better, but honestly I don't know why I didn't like New Vegas. Maybe because it just didn't feel like anything was new and I just got bored. I don't know what it was. I'm sure someone knows better than me why I like 3 better than Vegas

The first two are the best one's IMO. I like 3 and New Vegas, but the first two used a playstyle that has sadly been neglected for a while now

I got fallout 3 quite late and really enjoyed playing it, all side quests etc. One of my most played and enjoyed games i have to be honest.

Yet i had the same problem as you with new vegas. I just couldn't really get into it as much, i didn't really connect with the world or my character as i did with 3 (that may sound lame but meh). Could have been the bugs that stopped my game progress in a big way, or any number of reasons.

I have kind of the same opinion.

Also to lazy to get Fallout 3 to work on my new laptop.

I personally though Fallout 3 was the best, the combat was dull but the exploration, dialogue, setting was the best. I really liked the idea for New Vegas, but it just didn't seem as fun.

I may be in a minority here but i loved the combat. I don't know how many times i shot a head/arm/leg off watching it flying in slow motion, too many to count, yet i still love it.

never played fallout 1.....played a bit of fallout 2 and played the hell out of fallout 3....so my opinion is going to be pretty biased lol

im gonna say fallout 3 since i have the most experience with it.....while i HATED the combat in that game.....(it was terrible.....TERRIBLE lol) i loved the world and how we got to explore it....i had played alot of oblivion and some marrowind before it and i loved that feel but only in real locations

even after i had pretty much beaten everything in that game i just liked walking around downtown DC and finding things i never really noticed before....the wasteland was even more amazing to me

so yeah....fallout 3.....if the combat in that game were better.....it would probably be a perfect game for me

As with everything, it's an acquired taste.
