    What's your budget?

Also, where are you located? Specs vary a bit depending on which country you're ordering in.

You've stated a request, but not a goal.

    Good enough for 'what'?

Okay, so are you going to be doing anything other than gaming on this machine?

    What's important to you:

Do you need storage space for downloading music and movies?

Do you do video editing on the side?

Are you planning on doing any sort of addon or software development?

Also, one more thing to consider if you're gaming:

The screen on this laptop is pretty low resolution. That might be a hinderance when it comes to any decent gaming. Might want to make sure that your price is low enough so you can buy a decently-sized monitor for it.

Other than netflix and pandora no other music/movies will touch this computer. my desktop has my itunes and everything on it so no downloading.

    No video editing.

And no software development. just strictly gaming. my desktop will do all my schoolwork and stuff for me

You won't need an high and machine for that.
Nevertheless: Don't buy Alienware. Build your own machine, it will become much cheaper.
When you buy alienware, you pay the trademark and nonsense features you're not going to need.

And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
    And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
    Shall be lifted - nevermore!

He's looking for a laptop, not a desktop.

I have an alienware desktop, and i love it, however ive been looking into buying a laptop myself, and in terms of value for money, you might wanna consider the "republic of gamers" editions from ASUS, namely the G53sw or the G73sw. They are good value for money, cool , silent and enough power to keep you going for a while also a heap of difference in price compared to the m14x and m17x from alienware.
Try having a look for prices on those

Ah right. So forget what I said about building your own machine.
But don't buy Alienware either way. I'm sure you're able to get a high end laptop from another company which has the same power but will cost you less (or you pay the same and get more power).

I suggest buying something else than Alienware, just because you want Full HD screen.

This could be something to look at

Edit. Oops, price is quite heavy.

Alienware = Fail. Get an ASUS. They are extremely reliable and you can get a really good one for not too much money.

Thanks to JustintimeSS for the awesome sig!

i got the m15x, only upgraded the graphics card (got the best they had to offer)

and it came to like 1400, runs great-- only issue is u need a fan in the room but u should do that already anyway

50+fps in org 80-85 in most zones 100+ in raids (90ish during fights)

Btw, why the fuck they don't give consumer lappys with proper laptop keyboard, the flat "cool looking" keys are horrible. The good old IBM/now Lenovo laptops mostly have superior keyboard in comparison, and some Dells aswell.

Get an Asus, they have a 1 year warranty that includes water damage/dropping it on certain models and there built really really well. I've dropped my latop from 5 feet about 4 times and it still working fine 3 years later.

Alienware = Dell XPS with a paint job... not worth the money.

Just do the tits out of an xps wil get twice the perfomance for the same price.
