The funniest thing about world firsts, progression raiding, etc. is how these guilds will raid almost non-stop as soon as a patch is released so they can get enough gear to clear the place out so that they only have to raid one day a week for the next 6 months.

Probably because sponsors pay them for computers, new gear, a small yet substantial enough of an income to live on (added to their jobs) - and for recognition that they are the best.

Actually, it's not for gear.

They raid nearly non-stop(I've heard upwards of 18 hours a day 6 days a week, rotating members as needed. I doubt it's accurate though) so that after having everything on farm, they are done. They can raid 1 day a week, 2-3 hours.

And they are paid by sponsors.
