Monitor Question - Realllly Quick Monitor Question

    http://www.walmart.com/ip/HP-x20LED/...Specifications

Is this decent for gaming? I know the 5ms response time is solid, my worry is that its in black and white, and that I will have a delay between monitor and game. Has anyone used this for gaming? Does this do what a PC gamer needs?

Black and white? Are you referring to the bezel? That's just the site showing it's glossy.

Most of it's pretty solid. The only thing I don't like is the resolution could be better.

Personally, if I'm going to be spending over $100 on a monitor, I want it to go to 1920x1080. Not 1600x900.

From what I heard, isn't that a good thing?

The only thing that bothers me about the monitor is that it's not a 1080p one.

I thought this was a good thing Black-white-black in 5 ms.
Most manufacturers measure grey to grey. which obviously isn't as much a change as black to white

I don't understand what that means. and @Eternalwhitemoon I play in 1440x900 anyway, is that incapable of handling it?

    Yea as others have said, get a 1080p one (1920x1080 - 16x9)

EDIT: Oh, 5ms is good, you don't notice any delay.

Could look at this one instead. $60 more, but a little bigger and full 1080p.

It's not that it's incapable (that would depend on your video card I think, actually), but the resolution is awkward and imho not worth spending over $100 on. If you're gonna spend over $100 do 1920x1080.

Having a low 5ms at BTB is really good. GTG is shoddy and is too easy to get low MS with.

    So you're saying

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+23%...&skuId=9929626

Is a lot, lot better then the original link.

I'm kind of a nub when it comes to monitors, but I built a great machine, its 3 years old, but It's powerful. I guess I don't understand the difference in resolution.

Nice choice, would we ever let you down?

With that model you can plug a Digital box in the back and watch cable TV as well (Through the HDMI port)

That is actually grey to grey. Black and White is faster than that.
