    Using keys such as R, Z & X.

    I need those, so bad. I'm out of keybinds. I got around 50, but none of them uses R, Z & X, because they are used in-game for actions that I couldn't live without. That's right. I'm so used to press R to respond to buddies or whispers, if it'd be bound to something, I'd go crazy. Same thing for sheath/unsheath weapon (Z).

    How did you guys get over that? Bind it to other keys? If so, which ones? If It'd be to rebound them, which keys are currently not assigned to anything?
    Thanks,

    Chicken

    I actually use R for Holy Radiance, and it doesn't affect my ability to whisper one bit. Nor does it pop up a response window when I don't want it.

    Have you used up E and Q yet?

    I use X for Bear Form and Z for Cat Form. And I have recently bound both the other (blizzard bound) functions to [ and ].
    And I still cant rebind R .

    Q, E, F & X are used. G will be used soon.

    It's honestly Z & R. I like to be able to respond fast/unsheath weapon because it looks ugly something. Tell me about it.

    EDIT: Woot, 700th post.

    To be entirely honest with you, I wasn't aware that the default was for just hitting R to reply. I've always typed /r (I didn't change anything to make it do this). Works just fine and it's only one character more than what you're currently doing, plus it frees a keybind.

    I can understand it being hard to get used to not having r to whisper(personally i've gotten used to just typing /r) but i really don't get z and x. It's ages since i changed them, but as far as i remember z is sheathe weapon and x is sit, right? I can't remember the last time i used that, i think i bound them to numpad or something but im really not sure since i've never had a use for them.

    Sit is also your moving downwards key when flying/swimming.
    Therefor it can be usefull . Especially if you are a druid and want to RP a crow on a rooftop somewhere akin to Assassins Creed.

    R = Prayer of Mending;
    Z = Psychic Scream;
    X = Flash heal
    I have been using them like that forever :>
    I also got used to typing /channel for whatever channel I want to write in, so /r comes naturally.

    I used ctrl+r for returning a whisper. Sounds crappy, but it proved like a fine solution to abuse r and shift r

    As goes for R, i always start whispers with /r to make sure it wont go on wrong chat ;p so yeah, i got over that quite early, unstealth weapon and sit commands are with ctrl+z/x

    I'd bind sheath to shift-Z like Lechies here suggests, if I were you. Personally sheathing never mattered to me unless I was extremely bored :P but whatever you want to do is fine.

    Just bind whisper/sit/sheathe to shif+ or alt+. It will take a few hours to get used to it and you'll gain 3 close, convenient binds for combat.

    I bind (un)sheathing to control-Z and sitting to control-X. As for chatting, you can use a modifier and R for replies (I usually use /r, or simply ENTER when it's a valid option).

    r = Fel Flame
    Shift r = Life Tap
    z = Summon Port
    x = Shadowburn / Drain Soul

    I also thought I couldn't live without the in game defaults, reply specifically, but you just get used to it. I prefer more dps to quicker replys :P

    I personally use "EDSF" for movement, leaving Q, W, R, T, A, G, H, Z, X, and V for keybinds for my abilities (C is used for sit/move down while flying) and I personally find it very helpful on all of my characters.

    I'v got a lot bound also :S

    I have the grave key (the one to the left of the 1) to 4 bound then also F1. Then an alt modifier for all of them. Then R,F,C,T,G,V with shift modifier and alt modifier for R,F,C. Shift X and Z as well (but rarely used spells). I have = bound to /reply, sit to 0 and sheath/unsheath to 9. Took me a loooooong while to get used to changing my /reply hot key but you eventually do it. You do get used to it, just need to bite the bullet =P. I'd recommend not doing it immediately before a raid though...do it when you have a long break before your next raid or something.

    Oh and totaly forgot alt/shift Q and E hehe.

    Well, i use R, Z & X for skills as well.. and i don't miss sit/un-sheath one bit, did abit at first but i had to weight things in the end and found that these extra keys were crucial for my gameplay.As for whisper, i use "\"(the one above Enter) to reply.

  19. #19
    I was in the same boat as you, and I still haven't bound R yet.

    Binding Z and X was one of the best things I ever did tbh. The rare times when I still want to /sit, I type just that (screenshots ftw).

    The sheeting thing.... I agree, sometimes it looks ugly. Either bind it to something else (with a modifier like some above me suggested) or just forget about those 3s you might look silly every now and then.

    Did you know, typing /r replies aswell? You don't even have to press enter aswell!
