4000 Honor, is it enough?

As you are looking in the PvP sub forum, I reckon you do know about the 371 pvp gear fiasco. Blizzard is trying to soothe our pain here, and they will probably do it by giving us 4000 honor. So basically, 2 pieces. Even though it is not even sure we will get this, as I wonder how they will decide who deserves the 4k and who does not, I still wonder if it's enough to soothe our pain..

it does not begin to compensate for the fiasco. two weeeks of work lost on multiple toons. at least they should have given it 8k honor. 4k honor before reset, another 4k for the week when we bought the gears. they are also giving it on 7/19. by then my toons will be geared since its bg holiday. its one of those times we just have to suck it. mistakes happens. what u gonna do

Everyone that posted on the official forums b******g about it not being enough doesn't get it, everyone else that spent more then 2k honor over last week gets it.

I do think it will be enough, and I'm saying that as having had all but like 3 pieces of vicious at end of season and grabbing those with honor, I'm not much bothered by the fact that we are grinding gear again, and personally think they should do it every season switch, obviously let us know next time and preferably not make it look like the previous tiers honor gear... would much prefer if they either made it look like the previous seasons conquest, or 2200 gear over bloodthirsty but oh well...

Read what blizzard said, you will receive the 4k cap, then the remainder after you spend enough points to get back under 4k. You will never exceed the cap, although the points will be there, hidden if you will.

For a small number it could be equal or greater than the amount they spent during that week on now outdated items.
A small number of very infrequent pvp'ers.
However for a substantial number of not a majority then it is likely that we spent over 4k, in some cases into 10k or more honor during that period.
Let alone the gemming/enchanting which any honor payment does not fix.
For those the compensation is simply insufficient, and a quick-fix for something that would be more difficult to fix properly.
A proper fix would I feel involve identifying within your inventory any such items purchased during that week and upgrading them with the newer ones, maintaining gems/enchants/enhancements. Unfortunatly if such a fix was to be implemented, then experience leads us to believe we could grind out a full set again several times over before they figure out how to do it.
By then the compenstation would be useless, or no longer necessary.
A quick and insufficient fix, or a proper one which will be too late.

Is 4k enough to make up for the 1000 fail AVs I went through during my 4-day weekend to farm enough honor for a full Vicious set on my Mage alt before S10 started? No. But it is an extremely nice little gift, and it's actually very nice as a customer to hear Blizzard admit that they messed up and try to make amends for it.

You are now getting exactly what would've happened if they had gotten it right.

You would've been able to spend whatever was over the cap catching up on 365 gear. Once the new gear entered, you could bought it with the 4k honour you had saved. So far so good. The honour returned is spot on.

What isn't spot on is the simple fact that people went and enchanted/gemmed their gear. Just a belt slot is close to 400g with current prices on my server, never mind the other slots.

Im not about Honor since i enjoy pvp's and eventually i'll get the gear.
But all the gold spent on gems/enchants/reforging is the bad thing...

That is not what people are complaining about. Most people are mad because they farmed for a full 365 set before S10 started, because no one told them that 371 honor gear would be introduced a week later. If people had known that, they wouldn't have farmed for 365's that week. Blizzard admitted that they were at fault for not announcing about the new 'lower-tier' 371s.

They still got something for it. Whether or not you would've bothered to take the time is one thing, but you did not 'lose' more than 4k honour.

This.. it is mind boggling that nobody seems to understand it. If you didn't buy the s9 gear over the AV weekend, then you wouldn't have extra honor or any new gear.

I spent about 10k honor or so on a few differentalts, but I am not mad because i still geared my toons up. I know if I didn't then it's not like i could've saved up 30k honor to buy entire s10 sets.

I have my doubts that there are tons of people who farmed full sets of 365 in the week between 4.2 and S10.

I'm sure I earned well over 25k honor between 3 toons. Mostly gearing up two alts.

For those of you saying it was wasted time that could have been done just as easily the following week for 371 gear you should reconsider. You and many others would have entered your bg's being lessor geared and as such would have been contributing much less "for the win", thus often requiring many more bg's to take part in do to the higher loss rate.

For most players that did the grind for 365 gear they didnt expect to be able to get that week, and expected to only get it the following week, the difference between the 365 gear and blues/greens is far more than 365-371 ilvl gear. Thus this week you are more of a contribution to your pugs. As well you may be now gaining invites to small premades or even to rbg's that you wouldnt have gotten had you not attained 365 gear at least.

I have no problem with how they are handling it. I only pvp, and look at the 4k per toon as a small bonus.

I doubt it. If people think they may be getting 4k honor from Blizzard, lots of people are going to hold off on a couple of pieces. And it's not like 365 is hugely inferior.
