    Best Video player

So my question is simple, which, In the MMO-Champion is the video player that gives the best quality? I have used VLC nad DivX up to this point. The problem with VLC, compared to DivX is the blackness of the blacks, they are just more black in DivX than VLC. And the problem with DivX is that it is slow and sometimes doesn't play some files.

So is there a middle ground that I could settle on or are them two the best around atm?

BS.Player is what I use. However it has been tough on me lately and crashing and shit so at the moment I use VLC.

Bs.Player is a very sleek window only. With a small transparent edge around the video only. And another window with the options and stuff. It is very sleek, and the quality of the videos are quite good aswell. I'd say Windows Media Player Classic though plays HD videos the best so far(With the CCCP codec pack), but the interface s not very pretty to look at compared to BS.Player

I have to be honest... I just use Windows Media Player... people can complain till the cows come home but at the end of the day I don't even need to get out of bed to change the movie on my machine 4 meters away.

Although I nearly always use VLC, I think Media Player Classic with the Combined Community Codec Pack is the best.

    Check this: http://www.techradar.com/news/softwa...ce-2011-683569

A bit dated by now, but I reckon not that much have changed.

I use the K-Lite Codec Pack in combination with MPC-HC 64bit.
32bit MPC-HC comes standard with K-Lite, but the 64bit version you'll have to download yourself.

I used VLC before switching to Media Player Classic - Home Cinema. MPC-HC presents better sound than VLC does imo.

    I use VLC.

It plays pretty much everything and since (i think) it's open source, it won't do stupid shit to my system.

I was using VLC on XP till a few days ago when I started borrowing some old DVDs from the library , VLC was having huge issues loading them up and some even never. Then I put Media Player Classic - Home Cinema and it starts them immediately with 0 problems and much better decryption ( VLC would skip some frames and/or freeze on DVDs )

I use MPlayer with the SMPlayer frontend.

Decent Windows Mplayer builds here: [link]
    SMPlayer frontend only: [link]

    K-lite codec pack here

VLC and GOM are best imo

I'm not terribly picky, but I use VLC mainly because I've never had to install any codecs seperately and never had a problem playing anything with it.

Media Player Classic - Home Cinema WITHOUT Codec Packs. I install CoreAVC since I got a license for it at some point, and haali's media splitter. And honestly, it can play anything without CoreAVC as well.

Media Player Classic is the only player that in my experience has prevailed when even VLC failed.
Active WoW player Jan 2006 - Aug 2020
    Occasional WoW Classic Andy since.
Nothing lasts forever, as they say.
But at least I can casually play Classic and remember when MMORPGs were good.

i actually use a combination of media player, mpc-hc and VLC. they all have their uses and play varying formats differently. and regarding colours in VLC, you can change the video output. haven't used it in a while but the best is openGL if i'm not mistaken. it makes the image colours a lot clearer, much more like windows media player.

I use the latest WMP and VLC. I switch depending on whether things are appearing the way I like (subs). I roll with CCCP codecs as well as CoreAVC for the high resolution stuff. VLC has gotten better in viewing high resolution videos, as the reason I got CoreAVC was because VLC was displaying my videos in slow motion... but that was a while ago.

To the day before I used subtitles I used Windows's own player. Now on, I found VLC way better.

From personal experience, subs in VLC are garbage.
