Captain will defiantly be second but harry is still to fresh to be taken over by just a hero movie >.< a good one that I'm seeing in the morning but still just another hero movie.

Not even close, Harry Potter broke the record for the highest amount in the opening three days and is still going strong. Captain America looks mediocre at best, plus there's not as much hype as there was for the conclusion of the eight movie series.

I believe Harry Potter will stay in the lead. It's gotten better reviews and I loved it so much that I'll be seeing it a 2nd time soon :P. On a side note, one of my local theaters has MANY play times for IMAX, 3D and regular shows. It was a great ending to the series. That said, captain america will surely be 2nd and I, for one, will be seeing it aswell.

I despise both, but there is no doubt harry potter will win by a landslide.

Captain America probably won't even touch it. I'm not even sure any movie coming out this year has half a chance to beat it. The Avengers or TDKR might pull it off next year though.

Edit: Completely wasn't paying attention to the question. Either way though, HP is likely gonna sweep for a while.

From the reviews i've heard it's a decent hero movie but nothing even close to the dark night. The dark knight was one of the greatest hero movies of all time (moreso probably villain movies) and hp has beat it in terms of generating sales so far. Doubtful that captain america will even put a dent in it.

I secretly hope Captain America will win out but sadly, it wont.

And am I the only person on planet earth that thought Batman Returns was better then The Dark Knight?

I'm not a fan of The Dark Knight either.. I think Nolan and Bale are extremely overrated. I mean.. why waste Two-Face when you have the Joker involved? I probably shouldnt continue though >_> I think I whine about them in every batman thread.

I think it's because I like the idea of Batman being something no Director/Actor or whatever monopolizes.. Nolan is a part of the NEW franchise when is is over even.. He needs to back off..

Also.. Get Frank Miller.. seriously.. this movie exists because of him.

Oh jeez I forgot the topic.. Um.. I'd love to see Captain America do good, I love the character and I hope the movie can show the world he's not just a propaganda hero anymore. He has a lot of depth.

Harry Potter, I still haven't seen it. Captain America will bring in some people for the thing at the end.

I suppose you'll say Knight and Squire are copies of Batman and Robin?

Anyway the movie has pretty good reviews. Most of the negative comments are about how it's all been done before but that's why SUper Hero movies have their own genre.. it all does fit into the mold with Origin stories and most super hero stuff can be connected easily.

I'm not familiar with Knight and Squire but I looked it up and they first appeared in the Batman comics so not much to compare there since theyre both DC.

Captain American has an 8.0 on IMDB right now which is a really really high score. Haven't watched it yet, but I plan to now

The only reason Captain America won is because so many people already saw Harry in the first few days. The numbers were bound to decline unless you wanted the people who already saw it going back to watch it again.

That's what I was saying since it's mainly the harry potter fans watching the film, but i find it funny how the majority admit to it now that once results are in.

But a -75% decrease drop is actually extremely bad, a typical 2nd week drop is around the -30 to -40% hence the harry potter fans. Right now it ranks as the 43rd film of all time with the biggest 2nd week drop.

    Am I surprised? not really.

I agree, the reviews I read aren't that bad. I'm gonna watch it, just for the sake of it and as it's the last Marvel before 'the Avengers'.
