Was in BG today and realized how many things in games annoy me

WoW- People in the BG who farm kills etc, the best one being EOTS ,tards go for a flag (multiple tards) when we have lost all our bases ....

Bad company 2 - Snipers in offensive games ......really? and people who sit near a bomb camping but dont disarm it .(pray they dont buy BF3)

Call of duty -BO- campers. there like everywhere i mean really. How ever in Hardcore tdm if your team mate is camping i find it funny to block his view and he will get kicked when he team kills me

World of Warcraft- Level 58 Death Knights who dps in Blood and pull insane amounts of aggro (I was a healer in those levels) The people who leave random heroics after the first wipe, and people who think they're elitist after only having one piece of the current tier gear. I absolutely abhor people who farm money out of the Auction House for Gold Farming Websites.

Bad Company 2- Medics when you killed someone and you were like "YEAH!!!!" and then in the after-death cinematic you see a medic rezzing them.

Have it ever occured to you that some people who bought for example BF BC 2 bought just for the sole reason that the sniping gameplay is pure awesome? Maybe those people rather sit in the back supporting the team with motion sensors and enjoy the game as they wan't to themselves?

Spies in TF2 spring to mind, followed by Demo's. Demo's aren't too annoying for me but Spies make my personal game less fun hehe .

I also dislike snipers in a lot of games, I kindled my FPS flame on Planetside where a sniper hit was 2 shot kill mostly which gave it a good dynamic because people would wait for a different sniper to take the first shot or work in teams, and have people running around courtyards like headless chicken not knowing where the shots were coming from, just seemed 'better'.

Maybe those people rather sit in the back supporting the team with motion sensors and enjoy the game as they wan't to themselves?

Even if they did, it just ended up as 8v8 snipers mortar'ing the shit out of each other. Boringggggggg.

CoD Black Ops: Sniping is a joke. It's nothing but hitmarkers and bullets going straight left or straight right when you try to shoot someone 5 feet away from you.

I had to just get offline yesterday. I was in a SotA, we'd broken through Yellow. I was getting mobbed by 2-3 casters on my Spriest, had no mana and about 20% health, and was making a run for the leaf by the bombs. I get almost all the way there, and some jackwagon on my own team runs by on a mount at full health, grabs the leaf and runs off.

Yeah, bud...thanks. I didn't need that.

'Sniping in an offensive game' is an extremely oversimplified view. I don't know if it's oversimplified because you didn't want to go into detail, or simply because you didn't notice the depth of the subject area; I shall assume the first for now.



Snipers in objective-based games have always been a bone of contention. The fact is, *small* numbers of *good* snipers are immensely useful when assaulting a fixed location - they can suppress the defenders, forcing them to hang back in more sheltered areas rather than pelting fire down from firepoints. They can, at times, irritate the enemy enough to force them to go on a wild goose chase to hunt the snipers in return, or go sniper and thus neglect key areas of their defence.

The problem, as I've been annoyed by in the past, is not 'snipers'. It's every tom, dick and harry thinking that HE is the best sniper on the face of the Earth. A handful of skilled snipers picking off opportunity targets is good. Three quarters of your team hiding in the bushes while you assault a strongpoint with a token force... less good.


So, yeah. I apologise if I'm nitpicking here, but the problem is the number of snipers, not snipers in general. And it is NOT a new phenomenon, it's pretty much existed since strategic FPS first arose.

P.S. I blame those stupid f'cking sniper movies making it seem glamorous >.>

Are we talking about things that people do in games or just general things about the games?

For the people i'd have to say that in any game i tend to find it annoying when people talk like they're the definition of what the internet is, you know those wierdos that go around saying "cool story bro" or "mad doctor is mad" and stuff.

As for the actual games i find it really annoying when developers use the same models over and over again, like on wow where every single cave has the same layout and look, i've been playing mass effect recently and every single time i land on a planet and enter a building it looks exactly the same, it gets so dull

The leaf in wow , its more annoying when your enemy see's you going for it and takes it ...grrr

Developers that protect bads and morons by removing mechanics or difficulty of aquiring good items/weapons etc. that can be used to grief morons and bads :P

I recall many times as commander in BF2... 'Attack this position!' 'Affirmative!' <5 minutes later> '...You haven't moved...'


In the end I resorted to calling in supply drops and cars to 'accidentally' crush them. It was funny until I ended up laughing so hard at a whining camper I managed to artillery strike my own uncap.

Eh, just a few examples of things that annoy me periodically (or all the time).

- Six hour campaigns - If you have less than 10 hours of content for the "average" gamer out there, why even bother putting in a SP campaign? Most of us will finish it in half of that time anyways.
- Camping in areas that were obviously not designed to be accessible.
- Thinking that increasing the difficulty in a FPS equates to giving the AI unlimited, laser-guided grenades.
- People who refuse to complete objectives
- Half of your team being snipers and sitting back at spawn.
- Hype campaigns. Seriously, your game is going to be terrible. Stop
- Annual iterations of the same game. Didn't I just play this last year?

I'm sure that there are more.
