Internet connection problem.

Okay, I have a new problem with my computer. As I said in another thread, I just built a new computer. After hooking it all together, the hardware seems to run very smoothly. That being said, is there something special I need to do to connect to the internet? I tried using an ethernet cable by plugging it into the back of my motherboard and the wireless router, but that doesn't seem to work. Any advice? I'm assuming I'm missing something pretty simple.

Did you install the network card driver? Probably on the cd that came with the motherboard.
