Your Favorite Pokémon Generation?

What was your favorite Pokémon Generation?
And by Generation I mean by all of the pokémon, not by the games in that generation.

Probably the first, I still enjoyed the next few. But they're just getting worse and worse may be because of Nostalgia or even just getting older, but either way I'd rather watch the earlier season's Pokémon than the new ones

the kids in the 90s had the best childhoods and therefore we can thank the first generation of pokemon. Seriously.. if you didn't play pokemon red and blue, you were an outcast among your friends. :P

First. I lost interest after that. Now I look at the Pokemon and cry. Too many to remember (I used to have all 151 with the proper evolutions memorized) and most of them look insanely retarded (not that the first gen look any less retarded lulz).

First. The original and best.

The first was great, no doubt, but I think the series peaked in Ruby / Sapphire. Nothing will beat the original roster and the nostalgia effect, but Ruby (etc) did really good things for the gameplay and was just an overall awesome experience.

This is a tough question because 1) nostalgia always causes bias, and being 7 years old when red and blue were released, I have these memories (and then gold and silver) etched in my memory forever. I ended up beating ruby as well, but nothing in that generation was remarkable to me, even though the gameplay was the same with better graphics. the first generation has all my favorite pokemon of all time, but the newer games are definitely better in terms of complexity, graphics, gameplay.
