    What size on raids do YOU want?

    Hi!

    Since there's a thread on both wow-US General Discussion and -EU Raids and Dungeons forums about getting rid of both 25-man and 10-man in favor of a 15-man, and reading that a lot of people are of very different ideas on the subject, I thought I'd add a poll on mmo-champion, which can probably be regarded as a forum in-between the two.

    I'm not looking for a flame war, where you respond by flaming and question the idea of having your favorite raid size removed, simply vote it instead. If you wish to partake in the discussion, feel free to drop a line.

    As I see it, all have different upsides and downsides, some bigger or more severe than others. Smaller sizes would suffer from composition problems, where encounters can be tuned to either be forgiving to non-optimal setups, making optimal setups quite strong, or tuned with class stacking in mind, making non-optimal setups suffer. Bigger raid sizes on the other hand, where personal mistakes are more common due to the number of participants, has to be taken into account in the encounter design. I have a hard time seeing an Alysrazor type of fight in a 40-man setting, for instance, where a Baleroc type fight would probably work in 40-man as well as a 5-man, if tuned correctly. I would suppose that the bigger the size, the more tank 'n spank the fights have to be, or at least less complicated and/or reliant on personal skill, while the smaller the size, the larger margins the dev's will have to operate in-between, since comps and the skill from better to worse guilds will vary quite a lot.

    What are your thoughts on the matter?

    I'd say there would be many that prefer the 10man because it's hard enough for them as it is to have 10 people online at the same time for raids.

    I would love if it was 10/25/40 and it worked like in wotlk, 10 easy, 25 "hard" (now medium) and 40 hard.

    Forget that. I want a 5 man Raid! Hard to even find 9 other people that have skill and are not asshats these days.

    And no! The best thing Bliz did was make the loot the same in 10 and 25. Remove lock out they will screw the loot system over again (maybe).

    I would prefer 7 or 8-man raids, but that's not an option

    getting 10 people from my server that have a brain so we can raid is alr hard enough... imagine 40 people again lololol

    no but 15 is fine too idc it'll just be hard on dragonblight EU cuz this server is lolololol

    our servers incapabality is frankly painful.

    15 man raid would be nice. Easy to get all buffs and still fewer people to manage!

    I'd really like to see fully scalable raids so that you can take any size group over a certain minimum (probably 10). Loot expands each time you hit a 5 person threshold, so 14-man still gets 2 pieces, 15-man gets 3. Most of the time, we get 13-14 people showing up, more on rare occassions, and I hate turning away good raiders just because someone else pulls 3k more dps.

    A favour raids for what they are.

    Raid=surprise attack.

    I liked TBC style.

    Lets take the WOTLK has an exemple and Cat raid set up that drops same gear.

    Nax would be a 25man raid whille OS and EOE would be 10man. 25man would kill the LK general in nax while at the same time a small raid would take place in 2 different fronts OS and EOE.

    Yog was a big threat if you want to do a surprise attack (raid) you would take a group of 25man man.

    TOC, the point of this was to select the most elite ppl to go on a Surprise Attack to defeat de LK, 10man raid.

    Since the LK is so bad ass you would require a great team, personally I would like a 40man raid in here what 25 champions are going to kill the LK but I see a problem with game mechanics for having 40man in the encounter and it would be difficult to balance so I am Ok here doing in 25man.


    This for me is what makes logic but for this to append you would need attunments.

    In other for you go Ulduar you must first clear nax, eoe and OS.

    In to enter TOC you must first defeat Yog. (point of toc is to gather champions right?)

    Your guild them gathers amount his champions a big elite group to and slay the LK.

    For this to work Ulduar would needed to be available from start. And TOC and ICC needed to have been realised at same time.

    Ulduar Attunment removed when TOC and ICC was realised.

    TOC attunment removed from server first LK Kill.

    All attunments removed 3 months before next expansion aka RS realised.


    Think WOTLK would have been more fun if it was like this like it was in TBC.



    Only way I can See 40man coming back is if it is HC only boss.

    Lets take Cat, BWL 25man, TOTFW and BOT 10man, BWL Sinestra HC 40man raid. FL 25man raid and HC Ragnaros 40man raid.

    Even for casuals its not hard to make 25man raids, we had guild mergers and guild alliances for co-up during TBC and vanilla. Has for getting 40man do you really aspect Casuals or even semi-hardcore guys do defeat HC Ragnaros ou Sinestra before they overgear the instance in 10man? No? them what is the problem to have this modes if Harcore guys have more fun in it?

    Again this is just an opinion.

    I'd like 20 man as my guild raids 25 man and we always have around 5 people who just mess up on the same stuff over and over. I also loved ZG and AQ back in Vanilla.

    I'd actually prefer 20 man raids. 25 can be quite crowded on some encounters and 10 just doesn't feel epic enough (feels like you are defeating enemies you shouldn't be able to take on).

    I'd prefer if it was 10/20 man raids. 40 man raids, were pretty awful, and 10 to 25 man raids, are often awkward transitions.
    You can tell WoW changed the MMO for good when players started complaining about the amount of time they sink, into a time sink.

    Massivly Multiplayer online Role-playing Game.

    Doesn't sound like 10 man raiding to me. 10 man raids usually come forth out of convenience, since the argument for them is nearly always "to have 10 people online at the same time for raids".

    World bosses for 40+ people and 20+ for raids.
