Vid Card Selection - Help Pls

I am looking at purchasing another notebook for WoW.

I currently use an ATI radeon hd4250. The only notebook in my price range (po boy) has either the same vid card or a AMD radeon hd6480m.

My question: is that even an upgrade? If so, by how much (50% better etc)? There would be no point in purchasing it if the graphics settings will still be stuck on fair.

    Thank you!

PS- I am completely braindead on technical lingo, so please convert to 'explanation for dummies'.

    1. What is your budget
    2. Where do you live
    3. What uses besides WoW do you have?

Also, please give all the specs of your computer too... WoW is VERY CPU reliant and if u are running 1g of RAM that will be a problem too.

well all of the specs would be about what im using now...im buying a new one from bestbuy or walmart....i believe it was 4gb, dual 2.1s, etc. its just the vid card i concerned with...whether upgrading comp will actually be an upgrade gaming wise.

budget in the 500 range (which doesnt buy much of a notebook).

All of those are integrated graphics... if you game on a laptop with integrated graphics it's always going to suck.
You need to get one with a discrete gpu.

any of those would perform much better in wow than what you have... you won't find any cheaper than this unfortunately.
If you really want to game on a $500 budget I suggest you build a pc instead of getting a laptop... pc's perform significantly better than laptops, especially on a budget.

    That one.

By the way Best Buy and Walmart are not the best places to get computers... they are meh

Anyway... Is there any reason not to get a desktop?
